I spent a far bit of time in Clermont - 1980 - 81 and have fond memories of the Commercial Hotel. I also spent two weeks at Belyando roadhouse in 1980. It was just a servo then with a very rough corrugated dirt road from Clermont. In Charters towers you can get a CD so as you can self drive around all the historic sites with commentry.

@@davidmonaghan8938 thanks for that David. There was lots to see in that area but we were on a bit of a time budget and didn’t get to see everything but Rose was certainly happy to see the big mosaic mural.

@@Explornations The mural wasn't there in 2017 and even though we spent a few days in Charters we didn't see everything.
