Hi Marce. I’m glad you say that only in as much as I’m not imagining it. How long have you owned yours? What I will say is I have a tiny amount of enthusiasm from this latest flush from one of the ones I have. The buds just look like they are going to behave, I dunno just something about them. A tiny bit different. My patience is almost run out I have to say but I’m hoping this latest flush will flourish. What I will say also is one of the deformed flowers I had in a previous flush I took inside and it remained fragrant and in flower for a long time. (All be it deformed). So I am hopeful :) best of luck with yours

@@Jay_Jay I am going into the second year with it, but I bought it at a high cost because it was already at least two or three years old. I have had the same experience with it giving me about two flowers, one was deformed, the other was very small and did not last long. I am in the Australia, so still in winter now. I have pruned it accordingly and will give it this season coming up. I look forward to seeing what happens with yours in your garden!

Hi Jay Jay, thanks for sharing with us your lovely roses, they are absolutely gorgeous! Is the Timeless collection by Kordes ? Bye
@Jay_Jay
@Jay_Jay 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there and thanks for watching. The timeless collection are bred by NOACK. A German rose breeder who have won many adr awards. I’m very pleased with the collection I have to say. The 2nd flush the roses for some reason came out spoilt with a Heavy staining to its flowers. This could have been water damage but if it was it was very unusual. I think more likely nutirients issue. 1st and 3rd flush very good. Fragrant and long lasting flowers that can take shade and wet weather reasonably well. And a very good repeat flowering rose.

Hi there. Sorry for the delay in responding. I think you might be referring to maid of Kent, The very large flowering climber at the front of my house? It’s meant to be a repeat flowerer through the season but in the 3 years I’ve had it, it’s only had one flush. Very frustrating but I’m hoping this coming year I see more than one. But a magnificent display when in flower.

I am envious that a lot of your roses are still flowering at this time of the year! You are making me think of breaking my moratorium about buying more roses this year when I saw your Queen of Eden 😍😂
@Jay_Jay
@Jay_Jay 2 жыл бұрын
Haha Gwen you should never make that sort of moratorium :) it’s still a good time of year to buy, a few months growth remaining and next year your rose will hit the ground running. That’s my excuses and I’m sticking to it :) My queen of Sweden is only two years old and looks a good deal older. If you have a sunken bed or a raised path that’s the best place for queen of Sweden to go because of her very upright growth habit. My planting situation is actually the opposite of that, but still looks fine. No fragrance. But the most gorgeous flowers that last a reasonable time for me. Best of luck ;)

Could I please ask what u feed ur roses with!.. What a beautiful garden and selection of roses..
@Jay_Jay
@Jay_Jay 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Caroline. I fed mine this year with Westland granular rose feed. Once in April time and once after first flush. Furthermore I was feeding once fortnightly with the liquid seaweed diluted with water for the quick boost. But I have to say as yet I’m not totally convinced with rose feed. I know people who do not feed at all in my area and I see no big difference if anything it’s possible they do better. There is a saying what god giveth he taketh away. And it’s possible by feeding the roses they may give a nice flush but then need that extra dormant time to rest for the next flush. Next year I will try some little experimenting with roses of the same variety planted next to each other. Best of luck with yours

Hi Bella thanks. Yes it’s so frustrating the name changes around the world for certain roses. Why they do it I don’t know but I’m sure it costs them in the long run. Joie de vivre Is really starting to do well but sorry I don’t know of any other name for it. :(

@@bellam5394 hi Bella. Yeah I did keep a close eye on things but it wasn’t too bad. Many of my roses were out of flower and the ones that were in flower, some of them just bleached a little. Of all the roses Boscobel was the one that really took a hit for me. I must have dead headed a dozen flowers the day after they opened from bud. Some flowers the edges curled a little or aged perhaps a little prematurely but overall I think mine done ok. But I’d like some rain now. The ground is very dry :)

Do you see difference between germany and uk roses in your climat ?
@Jay_Jay
@Jay_Jay 2 жыл бұрын
Hi zhanna. Hmm I think there are some small differences but also crossovers. Perhaps some of my German roses are staying in bud a little longer. That is a slight difference I’ve noticed. Whilst I do have roses that bleach or fade in the direct sun overall the German roses are perhaps a little less likely to do so. I’m impressed with some of the German roses and how they handle the wet weather, But there is crossover I think. What are your thoughts?
