Welsh girls seem quite down to earth. My first date with an Irish girl, I asked her what she liked in a relationship and she smiled & said, "Well, a bit of crack." So I took her home to do some crack. *Boy did I have a lot to learn.*

Wow she really was talking too much about her sickness and that might scared guys in the past. She seems to be a nice lady in and out and she should give herself more credit for overcoming all of that because I am sure it was not easy to anyone going through that. I hope things work out for her and she find the right guy to love her for who she is nice lovely person.

Rose is much more than her disease but past pain has her leading with it - the man asked what she liked to do for fun and she answered detailing her disease in great detail. It's obvious she recogizes this defence mechanism - I hope she's able to trust again one day, and let dates get through their first course getting to know her a little as a person, first. Shame.

I think being up front is probably the best tactic, she's been going through the pain of chronic illness, why welcome someone in only to find they aren't able to deal with the truth of what she has to go through?

Why would she tell that on a 1st day? It's not good manners... they're eating!! It's not about her driving them away, it's about her not having good manners. Sorry!

Stop "opening up" ... it's a first date for goodness sakes.

My heart goes out to this attractive, engaging, open young woman. She has a very serious, chronic medical condition. And to be brutally frank, her having to carry around a stoma bag all the time to manage her disease is going to be a major turn-off for many potential partners, who otherwise would have been charmed by her personality and appearance. When she opened up at the beginning of her date/meal with her blind date, I was of two minds. On the one hand, I applauded her honesty and courage in volunteering up front all the gruesome details about her disease. But on the other hand, one, she's not giving her date a chance to get to know her properly before revealing her big secret; two, it's a gross topic to discuss over a meal. The man seemed very understanding and empathetic. However, I wonder what his final verdict was when he was asked at the end whether he wanted to see her again for a second date.

Stoma bags don't really cause any interference to other people though, it's more the stigma that people aren't used to it or may have false ideas about what they involve. It's literally just a bag that sits on the other person's stomach.

I understand she wants to be honest right off. But the second a person mentions bowel movements are anything related at the dinner table...i' m gone. I get queasy real easy and I'd probably throw up then and there. But I do sympathize with her problem, my husband had colon cancer and had to get an colostomy bag that i maintained for him. It's just not a subject for the dinner table.
