Unfortunately it looks like whoever sent you these got taken for a loop (at least the "$200" ones) brotha. I would highly recommend making sure at least one replica pair is top of the line for any comparisons. Ex: I know PK (one of the big Chinese Rep Factories) has Yeezy Reps that use real BASF Boost/the exact same materials throughout the upper and midsole as well, and even those shouldn't cost more than $120-$160 depending on where the person got them from. If you want to do a Jordan comparison, I definitely recommend doing a Jordan 1 High as they seem to have gotten those down extremely well. Especially LJR Factory from what I've seen. Not a rep person myself, but I keep my eyes and ears open since I do buy and collect sneakers/have for 20 years now. Blows my mind how insanely close reps are getting now... Some of them even better than the product Nike is putting out. Especially QC-wise. You can't redlight a product from Nike and ask for a pair without (insert flaw from QC pics here) like you can do with reps lol
@idonotexist_

I guarantee if you made a post on the repsneakers subreddit letting them know what you want to do, there will be people more than willing to help you find the best possible reps... And you may have people willing to send you pairs of HQ Reps to use for the video if they're stacked with pairs of reps or just want to help out.

@Soul of a robot Yeah. I think that if the big shoe companies really wanted to have the official products differentiated from replicas, they could just create a nfc tag for the shoes or some kind of unique registration code on their website to let you know you have the authentic pair, or even some other kind of authenticity check by them, not relying on the recipes from the website you bought it or the authenticity check from third parties like stockX. But, whatever, fakes exist and though they're not the easiest to buy, doing it is not impossible, so i'm happy :)

The conclusion was that a $230+ retail sneaker is glued better than sneakers 1/4 of the price? The one pair was $12 and was near identical. You could buy almost 20 of them before buying a single Yeezy at retail. I would rather of a couple pairs of cheap sneakers I could thrash and not care about than an expensive pair that would end up ripping.
@TheKarle22

"There is one huge difference", yes, price. Love all the insights this video provided, but for a channel that usually emphasizes the quality vs price aspect, I was really expecting more thoughts about that at the end of the video. Also, but maybe I'm wrong here, from my understanding the fakes were all used pairs right? Probably didn't matter much, but if that indeed was the case it should have been a point for discussion too. For example the slightly harder gum and foam would have been easily explained by the aging of tha material (nearly identical results anyway so didn't matter much)

14:05 Honestly, the process of buying fake sneakers has been streamlined so much with the advent of agents. I'd argue you get more quality control than buying retail online. You'd be hard pressed to find a retail seller that will give you QC pictures of the sneakers you buy before they even send it to you. You buy a pair of fakes, you get QC pictures, and you can decide on whether or not you want to go ahead and send them out return them. There's communities sharing what their pairs look like from the same batch, with people commenting on the flaws that the pairs may have.
@hythere
@hythere Жыл бұрын
Yeah plus I’m not sure the argument that “you have to spend close to the authentic price for a similar quality shoe” is correct because PKBASF (the highest quality Yeezy batch on the market rn) is only around $50-60 and after shipping it’s probably around ~$100 total
@SPNKr16
@SPNKr16 Жыл бұрын
With sight unseen shoes on both sides, the retail game is much more inconsistent in QC. My AJs of several types are perfect compared to what I've seen in store. My area's Footlocker had every single pair of AJ6 I previewed/auditioned before buying my pair with a dent on all the toes. I fixed my pair at home since the Midnight Navy is hard to turn down and come by, but if I bought a rep of the AJ6 I could guarantee even if sight unseen that specific QC issue would not be present. My AJ1 and AJ11 were sight unseen reps, perfect quality and presentation upon receiving them and they hold up in wears and time to the Real McCoy. If you know how to buy reps, just choose those if the price is the same as retail. Do not buy $10 reps.

I think it would be more scientific if these were new. Boost starts to compress after a while and who knows how long these fakes have been worn. Which probably has degraded them at least a little. Also judging from the belugas, the ankle part color is very off which to me seems like they’ve gotten a lesser batch. Was cool to see a used fake being similar to an almost new, real pair though. One thing I will say as an owner of confirmed legit 350 v2s is that after you wear them for a bit the issues you mentioned on the fakes is present too, on mine that I’ve worn a good few times when I pulled in some of the parts, specifically the toe box mesh thing you that was mentioned in the very end, have bonding that has weekend a lot and can be pulled apart fairly easily if you wanted to, so it might not be that all the fakes are that much worse in construction but are just worn in a little compared to the perfect condition new ones. Not saying they’ll be the same quality even new, or that they’ll stay that way as long, but I think it is something to think about if you’re somebody on that edge.

There's such a huge market for fake replica products out there that there HAS to be some that are legitimately good quality. Not quite the same as sneakers but some of my friends buy fake sports jerseys and the quality on some of them is pretty indistinguishable from real jerseys, and then the quality on others for the exact same price is horrible with loose stitching and off-center logos, etc. I'm not really a sneakerhead but I assume there are more "reputable" places to get fakes from.

I think the fake yezzys are pretty worn to begin with, so we at least know they're durable enough to last more than a few wearing. fakes became big, because no one could get the real ones for a reasonable price, or retail to begin with, so fakes became the better option. especially when you just said they're close enough in all aspects. I sort of stopped caring about fakes, because people only seemed to want the shoes to sell, not to actually wear, so if people had tovbuy fakes to wear, I didn't feel any type of way about it.

The belugas aren’t bad, but the shape is a little wonky. The others are about what you’d get for fakes under $20. I’ve seen and owned pairs that have been absolutely indistinguishable from the authentic pairs, and that includes being up close to them. A fake pair I owned lasted me 5 whole years of light wear, and I was able to sell them to a rep buyer for around the price I paid for them, which is wild. Around $150 for a really good pair is around the price you’d pay.

nah, they have their own factories to be able to make multiple brand models in the same place. the standards of the good fakes are of high quality though. china basically offers you a quality range, and you can either pick "cheap garbage" or "almost western quality". one of the biggest adidas fakers has been known to work with the original PUMA-Boost variant for his fake yeezys, for example. definitely doesnt come out of an adidas factory.

Watching you over the years, I have been very entertained and SCHOOLED by your knowledge and cut-outs. The guy I constructively criticized some 3yrs ago due to video content has graciously responded and improved greatly with every video. I have purchased (and NOT purchased) boots and shoes solely on your word, and have been happy with quality and savings. Pryor to this Chanel, I had NEVER purchased shoes for more than $100 US (save my $100 Clarks). I scoffed at the idea of spending more than $75 for good outdoor boots. After seeing your video on Red Wings, I ran out the house and happily dropped $325 on a new pair. Thanks for all you do.

Just for semantics sake, one can easily find a top batch yeezy rep for $50-70 assuming you arent using a MM. I have both rep and retail and the quality is virtually the same, the beluga pair was definitely a lower tier batch, whoever paid 200 for those got scammed big time unfortunately. Regardless, really appreciate you making this video, it was super interesting and I am looking forward to more videos like this!

Just commenting again to say you should do mountaineering boots. Might not be your best preforming video, but people often trust their lives and their toes to these boots so it would be cool to see what is inside them vs normal boots and if they’re even very different between brands. Fully automatic crampon compatible boots would be best, doesn’t have to be full 8000m boots
