amzn.to/3SZwXyr Full Extension Slides I Used in this video!
@pilotalan9 ай бұрын
Nice vid! This is the simple way. Too many people make it too complicated. Great stuff with the C-cutout for play (another thing most people don't realize). Quick comment: If you're by yourself you can set the front of the slide on your spacer, get it level, then drive the rear screw. The front is held by the spacer. Then drive the front, then the center.

Great tip about the screw holes in the C-shaped cutouts allowing for play in drawer width. Thank you.

I, too, had to run my drawers through the table saw for a tiny notch. But, now I have learned. Great video.

Awesome. I never knew that about where to put the screws so there's some flex to accommodate the width.

That last comment was exactly my question. So add the 1/16 of an inch. Your first comment was confirming for me as well, This is one of the more challenging things, because it has to be exactly square and exactly the right measurement wide, or it won’t work. Thx!

"..about perfect."? On the other hand, the video was most helpful. Thank you.

Yes, about perfect. I am a human, not a computer controlled robot. I always strive for perfection, but perfection doesn’t really exist. I do the best I can with the skills and tools I’ve acquired.

My build is for a van and my cabinet face doesn't have the traditional construction, so the Kreg jig would not even work. This? This will work! Thank you.

This is so helpful! I have only built and installed one drawer and I used a different method. It worked ok.

Add a small nail on the line to hold your drawer slide level and it's a one-man operation
@stephenverschelden970910 ай бұрын
Another tip for 1 man operation is to lay the cabinet on its side and let gravity help hold it in place…
@chriswelch7944 Жыл бұрын
All good! Of course, we don't always have someone handy to help hold the outer slide part to the box. You could use a longer piece of 1/4" plywood and clamp it to the cross piece, after removing the 1/4" spacer.

I think I just made the same mistake and cut my drawers to exact size 😬 hopefully I won’t run into the same problem but if I do, I’ll deal with it as you did. Thank you for all your other tips too

Hi, how do you have the edges of the plywood so smooth?? 😮
@OldSoulMillennial3 ай бұрын
@@baazbedi It’s maple veneer plywood. Found at Lowe’s. Expensive, but good stuff.

I’d rather install the inside slider first. Then pull the drawer out enough to get the first screw in and then move to the second screw back.

Great video. If you could, try looking at the actual camera instead of looking at yourself in the screen. It makes us look like you're talking to someone behind us instead of to the actual person watching the video.
@OldSoulMillennialКүн бұрын
I look at the screen to ensure the video remains in focus. If you could, forward a check to my PO Box to cover cost of a dedicated Cameraman. This financial support would allow me to look in the lens.
@Presence_o_MindКүн бұрын
@OldSoulMillennial wow. Sensitive much? Tons of other KZbinrs have no problem, BY THEMSELVES, looking at the actual camera. Occasionally, they peek at the screen but remain connected with their audience by looking at the camera with no issues. Now, if you're the type with equilibrium challenges and find yourself wobbling around and falling over anytime you need to look straight ahead, I'm sure a fella with your carpentry skills can craft a kickstand that you can shove up your tight ass to hold you in place. I look forward to checking out that video in the near future! 😉👌

Why not clamp a 1/4” board to the front frame and rest the slides on them. No need to try to alight it to the line or second person to hold it.
@alanrichardson7244 Жыл бұрын
Too much measuring. Just use a board cut to height.

What you have is simple enough that you don't need a jig because you don't have a face frame. If you are building caninets with face frames then your method will not work. Thought you have a new method but you don't. There is nothing new here and you don't need a jig
