These recap videos are top class. Usually, master-level games go too far over my head, but Eric presents them in a nicely balanced way. Everything is explained without being over-explained.
@forsakenmystery20042 жыл бұрын
and honestly I haven't seen any chess streamer or youtube who goes deep enough but not too deep. like Hikaru, if he wants to say a move is great he literally hangs everything and does the dumbest move that no one but below 1000 would make to prove his points but here eric presents it in a great manner.

16:57 “Sometimes this is a problem, when I spot an interesting line, I’ll just go super deep into that one line” I clearly DO NOT have this problem. I calc about 2, max 3 moves and then figure out. Geez nothing really looks too promising here!!!

Congrats on the win!! Just wanted to say how cool it is how much humility you approach these analyses with. It seems like it'd be difficult to be so open about your losses and weaknesses with such a large audience and I really love how you look at everything through the lens of constant improvement without ego getting in the way of that goal. Excellent analysis as always

What I love so much about Eric is how much he loves the game and is having fun. You can see it in his eyes and his calm smile. He explains things really well, but it's his love of the game which keeps me coming back. So great to see him win against a Grandmaster.

After this video saw the interview on Gibchess . Happy to see you talking about shaking off rustiness and your confidence issues and your warm up for the remaining matches . Great content. Well balanced in depth and width, keeping the red thread of the story intact. The respect for the audience is also very much appreciated. I am not a chess master in any meaning, just avarege, but appreciate the lack of two hundred different lines and questions to the audience every second meaning. Also valuable to share your thoughts and feelings. Great job Eric and best of luck tomorrow!

Congratulations on the success. It was funny watching this yesterday, when commentator Irina Bulmaga suddenly spoke (it was in the middle game): "Oh, I once had exactly the same position with Black and there was no escape, Black loses". How nice that you taught them otherwise. Otherwise, Bulmaga complained to me too often about the fact that the women fell behind so much yesterday.

White had staged a solid attack formation but Eric skillfully calculated correctly and avoided all the traps and neutralized white's tactics. A lot can be learned from this game as far as general chess ideas. The subtle and well-timed profalaxis moving the black king over to avoid check threats. All of the pins and discoveries lurking throughout the positions. Just a finely played and instructive game. Great win Eric!
