I really think he should push the song this year in the light of what is happening in Ukraine and other places in the world and with us sliding out of covid now. Even if it pops up on a advert or something or at the end of tv soap anything....tell him to don't give up on the song.

Another Christmas evening I sneak outside for a smoke and to listen to my favourite song for this occasion has come. No snow this year, but my niece is looking with big eyes at the glittering tree in the living room and even the rain feels festive with her around. I like having this little time capsule hidden in the comments of a KZbin video that goes unnoticed by the world. The first time I commented, during the first covid Christmas, it was really "the only time I'm home" and so much has changed since then. Now "Christmas is home" speaks so much more to me. It's no longer a song that echoes my melancholy, now it reminds me of how nice it is to be here with my niece and how grateful I am for the (un)traditional Christmas evening with my loved ones. Until next year, Myself, make beautiful memories with your niece to remember when we meet again in twelve months. Turning off my phone now.

Traditions can be such a strange thing: coming here isn't something I consciously do, but every year when I go outside and light up a cig, I listen yo this song and automatically scroll down to the comments. This year I've reached that age at which there are starting to be empty seats at Christmas. Three deaths in one year; rest in loving peace. My niece, the little firecracker, is in kindergarten now. I don’t know how anyone can create something so powerfully beautiful as this, but I’m glad you have. Thank you. Edit: have watched again, and cried again. Also you’re rocking those fairy lights Edit 2019 xmas: tears streaming down my face. And you’re STILL a fashion icon wearing those fairy lights Edit: it’s May 2021 rn but I distinctly remember listening to this on a bus ride home one dark, chilly afternoon in December 2020. Didnt want to cry in public so I just got really teary-eyed. I was worried that Christmas 2020 wouldn’t feel like Christmas, because it was my first Xmas without my extended family (can be up to maybe 15 people) because of covid, but it was a really special day just the 4 of us (my immediate family) although I did cry in the shower listening to Christmas songs on the radio because I missed my family. And I’d like to add that I’ve just been crying again at this song, even though it’s May. It’s really special song to me; I always save it for Christmas time. (Also because it’s odd to listen to out of season.) Fairy lights never stop being joyful, thank you. Such a good symbol of hope and all things christmassy.
