Last summer my son got married and I made my own dress based on a vintage design. The main feature was the large collar which I appliquéd lace on in a matching colour. I had lots of lovely comments and since then I’ve made a vintage blouse with a stunning colour. I never thought of making one that you can attach to an item of clothing. Never too old to learn new ideas, thanks Janelle. X

That would be a great idea, especially if you had a good capsule wardrobe or cohesive colour palette. Then you could mix and match by using scraps from all your other garments.

When I made this I found it far easier to attach the ruffle/trim and ties to one side first before I sandwiched everything together and then I joined everything together along the same stitch line where I attached the ruffle.

Hi Janelle! Thanks for the tutorial! :) May I ask you what system of size measurement you used?
@RoseryApparel4 жыл бұрын
The sizing is baste off the patterns I sell. You can check the size guide here: www.roseryapparel.com/sizing-1 😊
@cabinfeverremedy56364 жыл бұрын
Lol, the fact that you mentioned why cutting those little notches was necessary makes me think I'm not the only lazy one wondering if I can skip that step (guess not). That could be a good video 'Steps that you shouldn't skip (even if you think they're not important)'.
@RoseryApparel4 жыл бұрын
Haha yeah I used to skip these kinds of steps all the time and wondered why my sewing wasn’t looking ‘neat’, then tried them and it made all the difference!
@cabinfeverremedy56364 жыл бұрын
@@RoseryApparel So you're saying actually follow instructions.. like, all of them?😲 Must give this a try (someday).
@liquorlunatic9403 жыл бұрын
So this calls for two collar pieces, does it essentially come out to 4 pieces since its cut on the fold? Im really confused at the moment, I am at the sandwiching part and it doesnt seem long enough.
@RoseryApparel3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the template should be cut on the fold and there will be two pieces of fabric all up 😊 Did you print it out on the right sized paper - A4 or A3 depending on which one you downloaded?
