I followed Pablo's KZbin instructions for making a FE 18 rosette, from scratch, each of the elements, herringbone, ladder and tiles. My tools consisted of clamps, sandpaper, rulers, micrometer, an old scroll saw and one dovetail saw of about a 0.7mm kerf) . A friend allowed me access to his basic (carpenter's) shop bandsaw, a tool I'd never used before (not being as accurate as Pablo's bandsaw, it required of me extra work in thicknessing some of the workpieces). I purchased and cadged various veneers. I had to think of and make a couple of jigs and forms for thicknessing and radiusing some of the elements due to such a basic tool list. All the rosette elements turned out to absolute perfection and my chosen luthier has since assembled them and set them into a soundboard. Careful attention to Pablo's excellent instruction's will result in success. I had no previous lutherie experience.

I attended last September to Pablo's one month guitar buiding course in Malaga and it was the best, amazing time and experience in my lifetime. Pablo shows everything in details as in this video, nothing hiding, very patient, calm and happy to share all "luthier secrets". I really suggest to everyone who is thinking to explore " new world of opportunities" to attent Pablo's guitar making course, you will not regret at all!! Pablo, thank you very much for sharing this and all other videos, really great one. Hopefully see you this year again in Malaga!!

Just wanted to say, Pablo; I am in a no way a luthier, not even an amateur one; my workshop is our kitchen table :) But to follow your YT videos gives tranquility to my soul - I probably might have one, at least when I see your work - one needs such experience these covid days. Still I haven't discarded the possibility for my applying for a one-month course on location. This A de Torres video is so much appreciated by me. /Hakan

Great video, Pablo! Love your excelente teaching style! Could you do a video on proper back arching? I have some doubts as to how it is traditionally made. I understand that radius dishes should not be used on Spanish guitar backs. Anyway, thanks for your time and wonderful videos! Un abrazo desde Puerto Rico!

Hi Pablo, yours are the best video about guitarmaking ever ! Just a question: to get such perfect and straight blocks, what kind of glue do you use ? I guess it doesn't have to be a water base glue, am I wrong? Thank you very much for your kind reply !

Hi Pablo, what type of sawblade do you recommend for sawing these fine strips on a bandsaw? Thanks!
@redkitekk
@redkitekk 4 жыл бұрын
The 0.5 mm veneers I cut with a scalpel, for anything thicker than that it is best to use a blade with the higher TPI (Teeth Per Inch) you can find
@rensgeubbels1341
@rensgeubbels1341 4 жыл бұрын
PabloRequena thanks. I meant when you glue the veneers to a laminated block and then cut new strips from that block on the bandsaw. That’s also the highest tpi? And depth/width of the blade?
