For me, Rosie strikes me as the type of artist who meticulously studies contemporary artists of her time that she likes and produces tracks that contain multiple tributes and head nods to them in the same song. She is a workhorse artist. A career artist who will probably always be able to make a steady living from performing, but underneath it all is a deep sense that she is in no way original, and that is no bad thing at all. I've been absolutely caning the shit out of Birdsong for the past 4 days, and although broken into its constituent parts and considered individually it is a rather generic song of its time, I still couldn't give a flying fuck.
