I give my respect to the Counsellor and his great feeling and understanding of Rosie's and all the women's suffering. Covering up crimes of rape and incest, taking it out on the girls with abusive daily life, and taking away their babies. And you know, the nuns were used by the all the people who wanted to coverup the rape and incest as well. They handled it like crap, saving face and treating others horribly. It’s a shocking story, maybe Rosie’s story should be considered for a film these stories should be told, but only if it does not stress her, she has been through enough, the attitude she has adapted, was really incredible, unfortunately by blocking out the culprit or culprits, she protected them, while the punishment ,was unfortunately dished out on poor Rosie, it wasn’t her crime or her shame yet she was treated disgracefully by the powers within, thankfully they didn’t take away her voice.

@@maureenpetitto1024 I'm glad to hear you have met kind nuns. The words " mean or unkind nun" should be an oxymoron as nuns should embody perfect kindness and love. Unfortunately it's not the case. I'm sure there're plenty of proper nuns, who're completely dedicated to their call, but we don't get to hear about them unfortunately. I was scared of them as a child, as they were abrupt, impatient and d we've heard a lot of stories about them hurting children. That was in the 60's, so there was no proper channel to complain. Catholic priests were buying magazines with scantily dressed women, were smoking cigarettes and also were visiting ladies under the cover of darkness, thinking they won't be discovered. I lived in a small town and we always knew whom our priests were having affairs with. Everything is a lie and it's sad to think like that. I'm glad about your positive experience. What role did the families and wider community play in this? They had to know how the girls got pregnant (often incest) and what they were doing at the laundries after a while when they were handing over their girls to be further abused. Someday our religious people and all people are going to need to tackle the problem of rape and incest in a way that dramatically reduces the incidence of it. Too many are too squeamish to face it for the evil it is. All the community was in on it and the girls were left to blame. Horrible. Stop dumping on the nuns only and the Church only. Yeah they acted wrongly- totally opposite of what their faith calls for. The families and communities are also to blame. They looked the other way while the girls were abused and impregnated then the state looked the other way when the nuns abused them. There's so much blame to go around.

Evil does not even describe these so called God loving nuns and these so called God loving catholic fathers.
