Great video!! I've always wondered how exactly we're supposed to got about writing essays. I thought there was some kind of secret to it that everyone knew expect me lol. But now I see I was just really over complicating it for some reason and it's a lot more straight forward than I thought! Thanks for making this!!

Thank you for this it's been a real help unlike all the other videos that are quite vague and don't really break down how to go about an assignment step by step. Now I've been producing much better essays for uni thanks to you! 😁😁😁

Okay yeah, thank you! Your process here really helped me and confirmed I’ve made a good start and also that I’m not like the slowest reader in the world when it takes me a few hours to read and note take on some articles. I have more than 3 days but I am motivated to get my essay done asap- I also have another one to do right after lol I’ve got some readings done and some half baked ideas, so yeah I think it’ll be grand. They want at least 15 readings for a 2,000 word essay though and I’m like calm down it’s my first assignment lolll we’ll see 😅

You’ve got this!!! That is a lot of readings, but just start with skimming them, jotting down their key argument & then go back to the ones that you think are most important ❤️

Rosie do you think you could give me advice on how to break down this question? “Theatre for development extends the notion of functionality associated with African theatre and performance. Discuss using one or two case studies”
@RosieCrawford5 жыл бұрын
I would first highlight the key command word. In this it is 'Discuss' meaning that the Q wants you to give your knowledge of arguments for and against the statement with your own commentary of understanding and agree/disagreement. Ofc I have no idea what subject this is or knowledge of the topic but I would say that next you ought to first brain storm previous ideas about functionality of African theatre and performance e.g. is it for social movement, entertainment etc... I would then look at what is theatre for development and brainstorm why this may impact the functionality of African theatre and performance. Does that help you start off?
@Monae8215 жыл бұрын
Rosie Crawford thank you for responding, I study theatre and performance at Goldsmiths university. That does help a lot. Last question, Should I identify the functions of African theatre first then introduce my chosen case studies? then highlight how it extends the functions. I’m not sure when it’s the right time to introduce them my case studies. The essay is 4K words. There’s quite a lot of info required.

Hellooo, I was wondering if you could remember much of what they asked you at your interviews (aside from what you submitted)? I have one for arch and anth at Keble, and while I've watched your videos on it you only mention one question. Im just quite worried as I've never studied it before so don't know what sorts of things could come up:/ Do you have other general advice for the arch and anth interview? Thank-you so much for any help!!! Really appreciated :)
@RosieCrawford6 жыл бұрын
Helloooo the reason I only say one question is because we can't really tell you them as its cheating - sorry! I can say that you 100% won't be the only person who has never done the subjects before (not sure anyone in my year had actually) and they are more testing how you approach a question not your prior knowledge xxxxx

@@ibrahimsahabo2633 not really. There is no perfect software out there and my lecturers have advised against using software. Even the one built into word. Quite often they are built with inputting errors so when you use them things can be in the wrong place which means you lose marks. Less important to some extent on an undergrad but when doing my MSc we were warned not to.
