I went to university in Germany and we had different lingo from department to department and sometimes teacher to teacher. It was very confusing as I studied at three different departments (partially because of an effort to make anthropology more inclusive) and there was a specific term and abbreviation that I had never heard before and that got used in three different contexts that sometimes contradicted each other. It was all very confusing.

So many Oxford words that I've never even come across before! Super fun way of presenting the video ❤️

i thought rustication is not always disciplinary. like you can also choose to rusticate for a year for various reasons

Yeah you're right the term is used for both from my experience but apparently rustication is officially disciplinary whereas choosing to suspend is called suspension vl

13:53 Having only seen pictures, how do you put on those ribbons? I apologize for the "silly" question but I'm just curious if they come pre-tied and clip on or how they work? In the event I ever did go to Oxford I'd much rather wear the "feminine" (clothes shouldn't be gendered) attire.

My shirt wasn't an official one because primark had them cheaper lol but as far as I'm aware they're all separate. It doesn't really matter how you tie them but most people just do a double knot without a bow?? And ofc wear what you're comfortable in!!!

It's basically just like a slightly thicker ribbon and I normally get asked if it's a shoe lace hahaha
