I was a people pleaser for decades. Like you, I was used, abused and hurt so many times over the years. The people who should have supported me were the worst for using me. Family members..I'd give, give, give money, time, Whatever they needed, I was there .That ended when I had a stroke in my 40's. They didn't visit or even ring the ward, or my husband, to ask how I was. My own mother and my 2 sisters! What did I do? I stopped saying Yes to anything I didnt want to do, to everyone!! We got jobs abroad, emigrated from the Uk, and didn't look back!! Massive changes, yes they were. I don't regret the decisions we made for a single second. They're out of my life, and it feels as if an anchor has been cut from my ankle. No longer dragged down by anger, hurt and resentment

Beautiful gifts ideas Rosie. I struggle to find good silk pillowcases as find on the back of the box it's says 100% polyester yet say Silk on the front which is really naughty I feel. Great Video and some really good prices too for things that look really expensive 😊 totally with you on why you should expect a reward when you find someone's personal things. I left my handbag once on a shopping trolley it had my purse, phone and house keys didn't in realise til I got home and when I drove back it was handed in with a lovely note from a lady...she did write her name and address down and I sent her a thank you card and an M&S voucher as was relieved it was handed in. 😊

Rosie that is a gift beautiful photo frame with picture, I ask my sister to do it every year from my nephew and also canvas painting which my 5vyearcold nephew does. There the best gifts and thought has gone into it. Loved this video great ideas x

Hi Rosie. I am with you with slippers. I love slippers for Christmas. My sister buys me a new pair every year. Then I put the old ones at the front and back door in our shoebox, for popping on to go out in the garden and the garage.

I live in Massachusetts where Yankee Candle flagship store is... I've always loved them but their candles aren't as good as they used to be and the cost is very high. Pretty disappointing. 😕

Yes I agree! I used to love them and I don't think years ago they could be beaten on smell. However I find they are not as strong anymore xx

I used to also love Yankee candles, my sister in law and I were always burning them and had no issues. Whatever they have done to them means neither of us can use them, candles we used to buy have changed and make us both wheeze. It’s disappointing to say the least, they used to be so good and I used to recommend them to everyone, now the few shops that had them locally have stop selling them too!

You sound so like me, I’m a people pleaser and feel like a bit of a doormat sometimes. I’m really working on it and I’m determined as I get older 5….. that I won’t do that anymore. I like to help people and I accept I’m a sensitive person and that’s ok (that was a lesson in itself 😅) but I’m learning to take a step back from people who take advantage of me and i people should respect me the same way I respect them. It’s a tough one to learn and I’ve downloaded that book and am looking forward to listening to it xx

Wonderful vlog Rosie and some beautiful ideas for presents ❤ I have been a people pleaser all my life and how many times l have been persuaded to do something l really didn't want to do just to keep the peace. I am 59 now ( still 21 in my head 😂) . I have learnt to say no ,not easy as l still feel quilty for a while afterwards but l have decicided that l need to love myself a bit more and life goes by so quickly that l don't want to make someone else happy if doing so dosen't make me happy too. I can’t use LUSH,the first time I tried their stuff, and it was only a soap, I ended up having to take antihistamine to stop all the itching, it went in the bin so fast. Just a little warning to anyone who wants to try, it may well have just been my sensitive skin but I thought worth a mention.
