Love the lamps, look really well. I made the hurricane lamps with candle stick and gin glass from poundland. I sprayed 2 to sit on my fireplace, turned out so well. Ended up making many more for friends and family x

Hi Rosie! I remember when I was a child, my grandmother using a similar technique on old wooden furniture, but she would paint the piece matt white, then very roughly paint over with gold - leaving really rough brush strokes. I know it sounds a bit strange, but it resulted in a really funky sort of ‘shabby clhic’ effect. (bare in mind that gold paint back then was sort of ‘antique’ rather than bright). She was always decorating rooms or painting, sewing, repurposing etc x

I remember you doing the stone effect on the range lamp and i had a stone effect heart that was really misshaped so i chipped out some of the clay and repainted it with your technique it worked a treat cant even tell i painted it!
