Near the end with Spinel and Steven’s fight I genuinely started to cry when she said “I only wanted to be your friend”. She’s the only homeworld gem the sees Steven as Steven and not Rose or Pink, but felt like she wanted to say the hurt feelings she felt for what Pink did. I’m not hating on Rose but acknowledge that she had flaws. We will never her reasons and thought she was doing the right thing. Unaware of the consequences that she unintentionally passed to Steven.

The thing with rose is that we saw her development in reverse. So the rose we saw at the start of the show, was how she ended up. She started as this horrible spoiled brat and ended up as someone who loves the world and protects every living thing. Its a shame she never returned for Spinel tho

(Spoilers for SU Future, if you haven't watched it) . . . . That makes me actually curious...We see Pink jugle for Pink Pearl too. And from what I asumed, Pink got Spinel after P.Pearl was taken away from her. So I actually think Pink alredy knew how to juggle, since she used to do it for others. But maybe that's why she looked kind of...bored? Well, not really, but defenitely not happy, watching Spinel juggle: becouse she liked doing it herselfe and had no one to do it for anymore, instead seteling with watching someone juggle for her.

The thing about Pink Diamond, we're seeing her story in reverse. If we had seen it the other way around, we would have watched her redemption. That's why I don't hate her and don't understand how so many people do. Yes, she's done terrible things in the past, but she was a better person by the end of her life. It doesn't help that she is also the youngest Diamond, and so was just following the way of life already set up for her. Nobody seems to hate the other Diamonds in the same way they do Pink, and it just baffles me. Not to say Pink is blameless or that she didn't still have a lot of flaws, but we would be cheering for her had she been the main character and had we seen her story unfold chronologically.

I really love Steven Universe. And the movie was great, but like...Steven Universe Future... Has anyone finished that? And if you have, is it good? And yeah, half of the fandom used to be really toxic. The war with Undertale, the constant attacks on people that drew the characters differently (Skinny Rose Quartz and such), and more, but the other half was really freaking great!

I finished SU Future. I thought it was good. It takes a much darker turn (emotionaly) than most of the original show, since it focuses on how his childhood trauma impacted Steven and how having to grow up to fast (god, he's running his own school!) wasn't helping him. If you want to see how getting almost murdered multiple times inpacts a teen somewhat realisticly when puperty hormons and insecuritys come into the mix, I recoment giving it a watch. (I mean, it still has a view flaws, but nothing is perfect)

I saw SU Future. The end of the series didn't get most of the fans pleased, because the message isn't really okay (If you have mental problems, everything can be forgiven, leaving a horrible message at the end for the kids). Moreover, here on Latinamerica, there is a meme created in 2020 called "Gordo Mamón vs" which is translated to "Fat Sucker vs", refering to Steven and his constant crying and use of speeches to solve problems. But later he is compared to another character who delivers a simpler, but better solution to a conflict in an easier way. This meme is used to make Steven look bad and make fun of him. We cleared out that it IS better to speak before fighting, but we can neither forgive, no matter how much charisma they have for space genociders who have destroyed planets and have enslaved their own race.

idk, everyone says rose/pink is awful and poorly written, and while I agree the things she did were bad, I can't really say she was poorly written? like, she's a diamond. She hadn't been to earth yet to develop into a better person. It's understandable that pink diamond didn't really value spinel the same way rose quartz would have. I can also understand why she might not have gone back for spinel after she became rose (if she even remembered). outside of maybe wanting to leave that part of her life behind, at her heart she was still a diamond. spinel was just an old toy for her. a reminder of her past and childishness. i'm not saying what she did was right, far from it. just that I don't think she's inconsistent. Honestly, i'd love to see more about her journey from diamond brat, to the confident and empathetic leader of the crystal gems. I think it would solve a lot of the hate she gets while moving her away from just being a plot device.

0:23 Okay, so about this-A lot of fandoms are called toxic, and a lot of them have at least one horror story of toxicity with varying levels of intensity. Everything from Steven Universe, to Rick and Morty, and even to Among Us, believe it or not. And the thing about the notion that a fan base is toxic is that it’s frankly… untrue. Basically, in order for a fan base to be toxic, it needs to be at least over half of the fan base. And most of the time, it’s not. How you get toxicity like that is simply one thing that will always happen: Popularity. Whenever a movie, TV show, franchise, whatever, becomes popular, that means that it becomes popular for *everyone.* And although most of them will be logical, functional, and polite human beings, eventually, a fandom will start attracting some crazies. But having a small percentage of a fandom being rude or weird doesn’t make the fandom as a whole toxic. In fact, those people who are toxic in a fan base are usually called out by the rest of the fan base itself. There’s toxic people in fanbases from child fantasy stories like Harry Potter to adult comedy shows like Rick and Morty. But a couple of rude people in a group that has a majority of polite members don’t make a fan base toxic. And I know this to be true because one day Ros Mo will reach levels of popularity where crazies are attracted to her channel as well, but when that happens, there will be none of us who are actually part of the community and understand what it’s actually like who will say that our fandom is toxic. Ok, TBH, long post so here I go. (BTW, please don't hate me; I'm not trying to be a martyr for the series, or whatever, just my humble opinions and life experience.) I watched the entirety of the SU franchise. The pilot, all 4 original seasons, the movie, Future, and even the minisodes (shorts) released on KZbin, and the PSA shorts. All of it. And I wouldn't change a damn thing! XD This franchise carried me since I was 14 years old, as a lonely high schooler, with no friends to speak of. (I was a LOT like a mix between Steven, a little of Spinel, and Connie: reading books and drawing fanart from my comfort TV shows because I had no friends and was very nerdy [when that was the worst thing you could be; in school, geeky stuff, cartoons, and anime wasn't cool, it was stupid] and EXTREMELY socially awkward, even though Connie wasn't. I was terrified of getting rejected because I had already gone through so much pain and self-deprecation from bullying. Teachers were often the perpetrators ["Stop drawing or reading in my class! If you think what you have to say is so important, go down to the principal's office!"] and they didn't help when I needed it.) Now, I'm 20 years old and I feel that I grew up at the same rate as Steven. I was a young, optimistic girl who wanted others to like me and be happy, and I wanted us to solve our problems together no matter the obstacles. I let myself be everyone's ray of sunshine when I was hurting really bad on the inside, and I just stuffed it down. For years. I learned some hard lessons and hit some of the darkest places in my life as I watched the show. I never fell into a depression, but I came pretty damn close. I was hurt by people who were close to me, in the same way that Steven was. When all his friends moved away in Future, I was hitting the point in my life where I thought, "If all my friends move away/leave me and I don't know what to do in school because I don't know what I wanna be, WHO AM I and HOW DO I KNOW IF I REALLY MATTER???" I went through an identity crisis (and probably will again) and came out of it when I talked to my therapist and school counselors about it. Like Steven, I thought of all my friends who told me they thought I have my life all together, and I just felt like such a fraud. I felt like a fake and like an underachiever for not being who everyone thought I was, even though those are unrealistic expectations and I can't expect myself to meet them. This show and its soundtrack (all bops) helped me calm down and cry through all the pain I was going through, and drawing helped me with the emotions (good and bad) and my childhood trauma. I also loved all the songs and I know the entirety of Album One by heart. This show helped me realize that abandonment issues are REAL and that you're NEVER done growing, or growing up (there's a difference). I know that at some point, I'm going to reach the same place that 17-year-old Steven reached, where I'll have to (either metaphorically or literally) move away from where I came from or grew up, and find my own life and forge my own path. No one can do that except me. I'm making strides, by finishing community college next year and hopefully transferring to a university (I have my list of schools I'm looking at) and I finally figured out what I'm majoring in. I still have a LOOOOOONG way to go, but I know my family and friends will always have my back, just like Steven's did. And that's honestly all I could ask for. Thank you.

I was kinda okay with Spinel going with Diamonds. In a way they needed each other. Both lost someone and could mourn them probably. Not just be a replacement. Sure the Diamonds definitely tried to do that in the beginning with Steven. Especially with the line from their song: “ you know what it meant to love her, and you reminded us so much of her“. Which Steven honestly doesn’t know because he never got to specifically know her. Just different pieces from other’s perspectives. Not as a whole. Wish the spin-off had continued to dive further. However, they do admit that neither one is pink, but at least Spinel and the Diamonds actually have memories of her. A way to reminisce but hopefully move forward.

The reason I think she was like that because of Blue Diamond’s clouds or something like that. Here’s how I see it. Spinel was ecstatic when she first got to Homeworld, but over time got more and more depressed. The Diamond then tried to help her by using Blue’s clouds, it worked a little too well and that’s why she was like that during SU future. But that’s just my theory.

Ros mo I Highly recommend Maya and the three I finished watching it recently and it's amazing it's from the same people that made the Book of Life there's only nine episodes and the episodes are 36 minutes I think that this show might be up your alley
