I know this is off topic but for a guy who had a wealthy background, I am surprised Chandler is the somewhat reasonable guy and Ross is the whiney entitled guy.

Well, Ross was spoiled by his parents while Chandler was at least partially neglected. Ross and Monica’s parents were also shown to have a very openly loving relationship with each other…while Chandler experienced the exact opposite 😬 Probably because of this, Ross (and Monica) were the biggest romantics in the show while Chandler was very cynical about (if actually yearning for) love. Chandler also had very low self-worth (especially in the earlier seasons) and blamed himself rather than other people for not having any luck in love…while Ross tended to blame others (or at least not being great at accepting some responsibility) for his break ups. And to be slightly fair…as far as his divorce with Carol goes, he really had no actual responsibility or way of preventing that. (….sorry, this kind of spiralled into a character study 😅)
