Ross Jeffries, a.k.a. Paul Ross, visits Hot Seat with Wally George in 1989 to promote his book "How to Get the Women You Desire Into Bed." Jeffries is commonly said to be the inspiration for Frank T. J. Mackey, the character portrayed by Tom Cruise in "Magnolia."

Most people would crumble under pressure going on one of these shows but actually Ross loved it. He figured out early on that being outrageous and having fun with the audience was a great way to get publicity.
