M1903 and Ross are the two best snipers in the game, Ross for close / medium and m19 for medium / long range.

Kaizer Gaming have you messed with gewehr 98? Better sweet spot and more importantly faster bullet velocity, unbelievable gun. Better than 1903 in my opinion

Brad Johnson Yes I have, since BF1 was released it’s been my go to sniper till the last two months. It’s a good gun but the 1903 is slightly better and is now my long range sniper though I mainly use SMLE as I’m an aggressive close range sniper and I hate scope glint so even when I use long range snipers I will mainly use Marksman variants.

It’s literally the Gewehr M.95 + SMLE MKIII on steroids. Then add John Cena to the steroids and you’ve got yourself the best rifle in the game. The Ross MKIII Marksman. Not broken, but better than the SMLE. And then take the Arisaka rpm.

what you said about the planes is 100% true, a skilled player will do very hard work to get 30 or 40 killstreak, but a new pilot can get that streak in easy way especially with the heavy bomber.

Yep. Operations really highlights how brokenly OP planes are with a pilot who isn't a complete chowderhead. Any half-decent pilot can basically outfly the "counters", self-heal, and kill most direct opposition before that opposition can even reach him. It takes far far more coordination, numbers and player skill to counter a single pilot who doesn't want to die than it takes that pilot to stay alive and kill the "counters". Stack that with AA auto-breaking on Operations for some inexplicable reason and requiring constant repair with repair tool while often being out of range and away from action thus being very boring to man, and pilots in Operations have to basically want to die to be killed.

The AA guns are there for some reason. Stop farming kills and hope on the AA

You didn't read what I wrote well, missing the point about how AA guns often and inexplicably self-break in Operations, and are often far away from the action. Thus requiring a respawn with repair tool and then running to an out-of-the-way and thus very boring location. Then sit there and wait for the pilot to maybe fly within range. Perhaps getting sniped from long range while you wait as the guns are very often exposed and provide zero cover themselves (like stationary guns do). Then any pilot that does come within range and without complete oatmeal for brains that you do get some shots on can pretty easily move out of your range and quickly self-heal. Then return and attack you with weapons that one-shot you from beyond the range of the AA. Stationary AA guns are an overall weak "counter" to planes. Useful in a few locations, but overall ineffectual and very boring to repair and man constantly.

The real gun was actually so inferior to the SMLE, Canadian soldiers ditched their Ross rifles at any given opportunity. It was a national disaster.

untypebanal surKZbin I hope you are taking this in a satirical matter. As the real Ross Rifle, which I have actually used before in real life even, was vastly inferior to the design of the SMLE. If you were stuck in a trench in Flanders fields with the Ross, you'd come to understand that it did not like mud, it did not have enough safety to it regarding the bolt mechanism, and it certainly did not have the ability of being use quickly and cleanly like the SMLE.

Neonwarrior it is to prevent tunnel vision, staying scoped in will reduce your awareness of your surroundings. Unless you're sitting way back from frontlines in a long range spot it is wiser to scope out after your shots.

Neonwarrior at the expense of not noticing someone else rushing with a bayonette towards you, or another sniper in this one corner, getting ready to have a go at your head, etc. Getting information is more important for me than firing at a higher ROF, plus if done right, it is still faster than most other sniper rifles available in the game.

Yeah, they made the Ross too good. It's outshining pretty much any other bolt action in the game at the moment. All the advantages of all the other variations of single action rifles. It's a lovely rifle, but it basically makes playing the other rifles essentially obsolete.
