I still stand by the fact that if Booker had beaten Triple H at 'Mania that year, people would remember that storyline in a more positive "overcoming the discrimination" way. The fact that he lost is what made it truly age so horribly.

It's universally looked back on as a bad call by McMahon and everyone is in agreement that it should've been Booker T who won. Kind of like Undertaker's streak ending. It shouldn't have happened.

@Samurai_Stoner Wtf... That's why there's a difference between thinking and factual. It was meant to be racist. That's FACTUALLY what the storyline was. In reality (and what made it worse), Booker was booked to be a mega babyface champion after beating the big, bad, racist heel Triple H, but real-life Paul Levesque politicked backstage (as was normal for him) and had the outcome changed the day of because of his ego. It's not about what you feel and think. That was a fact, and that's why they mentioned in the video that WWE tries hard to ignore that to this day. We recognized that when it aired, and WWE got MANY complaints and call-ins over that- before social media was even a huge thing.

@@Samurai_Stoner Nah, it was definitely intentional. I'm surprised they didn't try to go with something like "oh it's because Booker T's from WCW" to cover it, they just completely let the racial aspect ride.

The ONLY thing I wish WL corrected with this list is the Benoit thing. On the LIVE airing of Mania 20, the show didn't end with Benoit celebrating with his family. As shown on the Network, the show ended the same way as it does on the network: Benoit celebrating with Eddie, him going to the top rope and the show ends with Mania 20 highlights. The Benoit celebration with his family was an Off-air thing.

Vince saying to the n word in 2007 was actually found hilarious by many people. And a living in a majority black city, many black folks that I knew that were fans at that time thought it was hilarious. I don't think that it is fair to put today's societal standards (which in many cases are hypocritical) to art and media of the past because the societal standards were different back then.

I kinda doubt the Jinder Mahal racist thing was Vince. Not because I think better of Vince or because I don't think it's something he would come up with, because I don't think better of Vince and I can easily see him coming up with this. Nah, the reason I doubt it was Vince that came up with this is because I seriously doubt there would've been an apology if it actually was him, because to my knowledge , he's never genuinely apologized for anything and thinks too highly of his own sense of humor to backtrack. It might've been someone further down in creative. Or maybe even Mahal himself, because if memory serves, he wasn't that great and might've been trying to get heat by reaching for low hanging fruit only for it to backfire for the obvious reason it should backfire. I freely acknowledge that I could be wrong, but my gut feeling is telling me that this specific incident wasn't concocted by Vince himself. Maybe he knew beforehand and/signed off on it, but I don't think it was his idea because I just don't see him apologizing (or letting the WWE apologize on his behalf) for something he came up with.

The first two are still pretty fondly remembered, whereas the last one is generally seen as unfortunate timing (it would have been weirder if they hadn't done it right then.) @user-ih2tr7rt9r 8 ай бұрын
@@onigames7309 and you’re right on that not every murder is a calculated but I just had this feeling something about it is off like that could have not been his own writing and trust me I have watched thousands of horror movies there’s always a little someone from the past who wants to get your revenge on you for something stupid because there’s always some stupid bullshit reason to kill someone that’s the beauty of it all it’s called publicity and fame movies like scream godfather, Jedi and etc. etc. All reveal something. That we all thought at first it was true, but it turns out it was never true the whole entire time so if there was a killer that killed. All three of them had to been someone from Chris’s past and the thing with Chris is that he was never like that from what I heard from David Benoit interview he even said he couldn’t believe after everything that happened and he said that his father will never do something like that he would do. He love them all very much and he wouldn’t no shit from anybody I don’t think it was drugs. I don’t think it was CTE. I don’t think it’s none of that. I don’t believe in CTE I don’t think CTE will make your brain go all fucked up just so you got so upset over someone who died you get pissed off over one thing and then all the sudden you start killing someone to death like guys like Mick Foley Vince McMahon, and pretty much all of them they had all had chair shots to the head and they didn’t kill anybody and David even said all the conspiracy theories around his dad are just conspiracy theories I’m not a conspiracy theorist. This is not a theory this is a situation that has been overlooked for the past like 20 or 30 years from now you don’t think for one second it had to be someone on the roster who might have something to do with it or know what really happened on that day because Chris and all of them they were living in Fayetteville Georgia and their town is very quiet and the place is very so violent over there it’s a small suburban town, and I live in a suburban town and there’s always been killers and creeps weirdos all over it because the town is not very strict and little too bad things can happen really quickly wait before I started watching wrestling i used to watch some old TV shows about serial killers killing people in little small towns, and usually some of these killers wait before they get caught they send some clues to the officers to their victims so they can try to figure out who it could be anything with the small towns there wasn’t no protection in the daytime or at night because when you are in nighttime, there’s only some scary shit about to go down. Trust me I have seen a lot of things and when i hear stuff like this it gets me wonder why would they have done it? What would be the motive so I’m thinking someone had been in that house if it wasn’t Kevin Sullivan who killed Chris and the rest of them who would’ve did it if there is a killer what makes you think they won’t do this type of stuff again they will always find ways to come back to kill someone just so they can go after the next if there is a killer David could be a target same with Chris same with Vicky and any other person who is friends with Chris so my theory is that what if there was a killer who killed Chris Benoit? And they’re possibly out there sitting there thrilled over the work that he or she just did only for the cops not to know anything about it until whatever the time comes, and we found out more about this situation they are going to expose themselves pretty quickly because if there is a killer the killer has to be dumb It has the IQ of a turtle to tried to get away with something because there’s no way someone can get away with it so quickly and kept it a secret over a whole entire year only to reveal themselves only to be one of Stupidest people of all time we know a lot about Nancy but the one thing that people don’t know about is we don’t know that much about Chris Benoit like we don’t even know what his childhood was like what his family was like all we know is he was one if not one of the greatest technical wrestlers of all time and he would’ve been one of the greatest world champions in history and for everyone to say he was a great guy. In my opinion I would say yes he was a great guy like, how can someone be so great only to become an absolute monster in the words of Stone Cold Steve Austin Chris Benoit i knew great guy hell of a wrestler Chris Benoit the man is just unforgettable so yeah, in my theory, I still think there had been a killer involved in hiding somewhere just so they won’t get arrested for what they did and also all they found was a Bible a knife and the rope that Chris was hanging there is a thing in life it’s called innocent until proven guilty Chris was already dead when the cops arrived and he was already hanging about the ceiling so there is no way it could happen him and I’m sorry about my take on the whole thing like I used to watch like theory videos about Chris I remember back in 2016 there was this KZbin video I couldn’t remember the guys KZbin name but the thumbnail of the video was somebody looking like Chris and Nancy and Daniel hanging with someone wearing a robe it was like a conspiracy theory that someone locked them in some sort of building somewhere like from everything for what I just heard I’ll honestly think that he didn’t do it but besides all that I think he was a great Wrestler in my opinion because my only time I even know who Chris Benoit was was when I went onto the WWE network for the very first time saw all of his old matches and seeing what he can do in the ring and I’m like man this guy is good and this was around the time I first started watching KZbin and I was researching what happened to all the old WWF guys he was the first person I research and when I found out that he killed himself and his family I was like that was horrible and I didn’t say nothing bad to him All I had to say, was that I didn’t like him just what I was about to love him this was around the time I thought he was still alive until I watch that KZbin video of the tribute show seeing everyone upset about it was just so sad and I wish none of that never happened. No wonder why it was still one of the darkest days in WWE history and I hope one day David will become a wrestler just like his father follow his footsteps and do the one thing is that his father never got the chance of doing that just become world champion for a very long time but the question is do I think he will get inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame my answer is yes because WWE they are not trying to erase Chris Benoit they are just waiting for the right time for everything to die down for everybody, accusing him of things to stop, and once you hear that music everything will be happily ever after, and everybody will win I apologize if I offended you with that hot take or with that theory with all personal thoughts aside I think this was a very sad story that nobody want it to happen and never wanted to hear it ever again and I’m just gonna leave it alone but what do you think about the whole situation? I think he still one of the goats

@@user-ih2tr7rt9rBenoit had CTE it was documented by an autopsy after his death. His brain was that of an 80 year old Altyzmer patient. CTE causes mood swings, behaviorism problems, change in personality, memory loss, muscle weakness, brain deterioration and eventually the body shuts down. I get some people don’t want to believe it; but the fact that he had CTE, Insane amounts of steroids through out his career and when Eddie Guerrero passed away it destroyed him. The fact is, CTE changes a person’s personality and it destroys brain tissue; he had CTE. So to deny the fact Benoit had a Brian disease as to pass it off like he didn’t do it is just plain stupid.

I disagree with the Booker and Triple H one. The only problem with that storyline was the result of the blow off. Everything else was perfect heel heat and face adversity

People wanted to push Jinder THIS YEAR by leaning into the whole "evil foreigner brown heel anti-USA" angle. That was when he popped back up in January and some fans wanted to push him. I read way too much of that. Ffs this is 2024 and a lot of folks wanted to typecast him like it's 1984 or right after 9/11. It's nuts...🤦‍♂️

If HHH lost to BookerT at mania would the storyline be somewhat justified? I feel the fact booker lost made it so much worse…

Booker should have gone over against Triple H on that Wrestlemania... That itself was Hogan level of disrespect in my honest opinion. Because of how Booker was treated that WWE lost credibility in my eyes and made me focus more on other promotions. We could have had something good that year, but no, handlebar moustache HHH couldn't handle not being in the limelight.

I think he knows. Haven't heard him talk about it in an interview but I'm sure it's come up. It's pretty much universally agreed that Booker T should've gone over that night. Pros, fans, critics, everyone recognizes that it was the wrong decision. Kind of like Undertaker's streak ending. Never should've happened.
