5:15 ... The women's pro wrestling scene in Japan from the 80's - 90's were Hardcore before Hardcore was a thing. Many of the props used, like the tables, weren't precut in order to add to the brutality of the matches. Aja Kong, Akira Hokuto, Bull Nakano, and Kaoru Maeda are the four that I know of that gave, and took, the sickest bumps in that area of the business.

I like how you refer to these masked monsters as “Mexican Bane. It’s more like “accurate Bane” because technically he legitimately is Latino (Cuban, but still Hispanic). It’s understandable tbf because Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises is the most widely-known portrayal, but in most continuities, including the comics, video games, & cartoons, Bane’s whole gimmick is being a Latin luchadore who destroys Batman with wrestling moves. It’s why I want Batista to play him in James Gunn’s DCU (Venom roids & all). Even tho he’s technically Filipino (+ Greek), he’s still Hispanic & shares cultural characteristics with Latinos, so he’d still fit the role perfectly IMO. He believes he’s aged out of the role now, but I wouldn’t mind having an older Bane. Considering his relationship with Gunn, it’d be too good an opportunity to pass up, same with Willem Dafoe as Joker (I still hope we get an adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns with him pushing veteran Batman to his limit til he paralyzes him).
