how That 300ft Antenna stayed up so long in such a storm I do not know. Pirate radio will NEVER happen again so this is treasured footage..

ChewyNet: This was a little gale at the beginning. North Sea had its share of big waves, this area was called the Knock Deep. I've seen the under belly of a wicked 50 footer as it rolled us, while on deck, in this area. Force 12 on any sea is nasty, no matter which sea in the world it occurs. I used to work a mile away from Ross Revenge, many of storm you'd watch the lady rock back and forth across much larger waves than this and the 300 feet tower leaped through the air, remarkable sight!

The knock deep i believe is in the Thames Estuary.

@RojoPirata As a fisherman in the sixties and seventies I worked the area many times. believe me it can get very rough even for a 100 footer. Thanks for your reply.

@anon7299 If this was 1986, it was the Knock Deep. Unless they towed RC down to South Falls Head and then pulled her back up to Knock Deep in 1987. I was on m.v. Communicator during the 1987 and RC was right there along side of us for most of the year, until she was moved down to the South Falls Head in the fall of 1987. If this is filmed at South Falls Head, then it was sometime after the fall of 1987. All the best, Anon7299! RJ

@petronopulas KD is one of the last channels on the outer edge of the TE. The KD is bounded by the small Kentish Knock on the east and the longer Long Sand Head, which came across the north to the west side of the Knock Deep and provides some cover from the North, North-West, and West for ships anchored in the KD.
