I have this same rifle in the case hardened version. Love how well it shoots; even extremely hot loads are tame in it because it's a heavy but well balanced rifle. Had to laugh a little, because I forget to disengage the safety once in a while too. I hope you are enjoying the rifle a lot.

@@donsweeney5988 Sorry to hear that. I got mine more than 10 years ago. I didn’t change much except put a Lyman rear and front sight on it. But it did take several months and shooting sessions for it to smooth out. For a while when they first hit the market there was a cottage industry of gunsmiths that did work on the various versions of R92 to get them “slicked up.” I hope that your experience improves. The safety works at 1:20 . Nice shooting and really like the " bullet stop" range with the rail ties ! We have several Rossi / Brazteck rifles and the only regret I have is should have bought more of them . Good product !

Thank you. That safety has gotten me a couple of times. The backstop works pretty well. I have dirt piled up behind it also. When I get mine back and get to do some shooting, I will post my opinion. Don, I just inspected my new R92, same model as yours, and I noticed that the screw holding in the buttplate was scored as if by a heavy screwdriver or power tool. Also, there were fingerprints and tiny scratches in the stainless, like you would get after months of use. Also, there was a 2" zigzag-type scratch in the steel near the feed. Is this normal? Also, it seems to be rather difficult to aim with the sight over the hammer. Is this normal as well?

As far as I am concerned. It should be flawless. We paid for new and quality. Not something that looks used and beat up. Would they accept that if they were paying the money. No. It has been a while since I have shot mine. I don't remember having any problems with the sights. I will pay attention to that next time I shoot it. Good luck and Thanks for watching.

Searched the net for months. I was looking for 357 but found a 44. The 16" and the 20" are round. The 24" inch is octagonal. I still want a 24" 357. just can't find one. Good luck with your hunt. Thanks for watching.

@@donsweeney5988 I don't know if they ship. But a small local gun store has 4 of them in 357. I am waiting for a call to check out a 20 inch stainless that they are getting in either today or tomorrow. It is a shame that the 20 inch doesn't have an octagonal barrel. Will check it out anyways.

On the Rossi website it claims that R92 rifles with 24 inch barrels can accept 12 rounds, but I'm not sure if that's true or false. Because for one nobody's made a video shooting 12 rounds out of a R92 yet, and two most 44 Magnum lever actions like the Marlin 1894 and the Henry Big Boy can only take 10 rounds and it has me questioning how the Rossi R92 is capable of accepting 12.. If you ever get the time to read my comment could you respond and tell me what the deal is since you own a 24 inch R92? Because I've been thinking about buying myself one quite similar to yours.

From what I am hearing you bought the good one. The 16" and the 20" seem to have no problems. The 24" is the one that has the problems. Hopefully you will get there soon. Happy shooting and thanks for watching.

@@donsweeney5988 your welcome i love to see anything about these rifles in them and I and alot of other im sure would love to see what you can do with yours at 100 yards I havent found many people trying to shoot very far with them they can do it though very surprisingly you can take deer at a dead run at 100 with them ..and as the other one i havent had one of those but seen some here and there for sale still alot to be had just gata find them befor others but them up but i plan to brass tack my forgrip and stock wood after i captains varnish them both gana be very pretty when im done

I have only been able to shoot it once and at 25 yards only. I shoot black powder flintlocks and percussion and I shoot them at 25,50,100 yards offhand. I was impressed with the accuracy but not the quality of the Rossi. If it works out, I will definitely get some video from 25,50,100 yards offhand with the Rossi. I love the challenge of offhand shooting. I bet your rifle will look good when your done with it. You should post a video or pics when you are done. Happy shooting.

Octagonal barrels are heavier, the 24 inch heavy barrel makes front heavy rifle making rapid shooting challenging. I have Uberti 357 same problem.

I shoot a lot of black powder. I have flintlocks with octagonal barrels. Most of my shooting is done offhand. Did Uberti fix it for you? I didn't find one video on KZbin about this problem. There is a lot on the internet about it. I would think these companies wouldn't send guns out with this problem. They should know it will give them a bad reputation. I don't want a rifle that the magazine tube keeps coming out of. Thanks for watching and commenting.
