As someone who's been playing the cajon for nearly 5 years at this stage, this is perhaps the best tutorial video I've come across - crisp, clear instruction with quality drumming to boot - definitely going to take a lot of this to heart - cheers Ross

Alright, I gotta agree with everybody else here. In my opinion, and this is saying allot, you are by far the best tutorialist on KZbin for the Cajon! And there's a lot of good people here to, so absolutely no lack of respect for anybody. You just have a real passion that is easy to see and understand. Plus how you word things and explain stuff really makes it easy to get something out of your videos! I just got my first Cajon and used to have some very limited drum experience about 4 years ago, but have played other instruments as well. However, this is my favorite by far! I have less than 45 min on the Cajon and can already play a pretty good tempo in 1/16 notes with the rock beat. Not saying much, but I already see potential to really have some serious fun! Also got an alright start to the finger roll. :) I love your videos and you need to keep going! Thank you Ross for the awesome tutorials! All thumbs up!

I just bought the meinl makah burl cajon for my church. I'm actually a trumpet payer. I play trumpet in the morning service with a full band. in the evening service though, it is only 1 acoustic guitar and it lacks a lot. I thought I'd get this and learn some beats to spice up the music and make it sound more full. I absolutely love this cajon video. It has made me realize that it's not impossible. some of the things you were doing like the thing at the top of the cajon. I believe it was a fill with both hands at the top. it's all plenty for worship music with one guitar. I a not going to stop there. I love this thing. I'm going to get really good and join some other styles of music and perform and really have some fun. thank you for the video. keep them coming please.
@AviMus828 жыл бұрын
I actually took it back and the the LP Americana series cajon. it has a much deeper low energy it seems and a more crisp snare. This cajon is fantastic. it has some small nicks in the faceplate, but in great shape. it's a tad smaller then the meinl cajons. Fantastic cajon. I wish this version had the choice to drop the snares off and just get the natural sound of the box with no sizzle. I've only seen one like that though. any tips and tricks to advance quick besides what you put in this video. Please excuse the typos. I'm doing this on my phone.

I see this in a small room or small venue playing unplugged acoustic instruments, while many try to mike these boxes to do more than they can do, and all they get is sound mud. ...and I wonder how many are born to be able to staccato trigger hammer their fingers with the weight it takes and the coordination!? he, obviously can.
