I found video very useful guide for installing a Smartcar RCS43M camera/sensor combo into 2008 Camry. Main challenge was the jump to connecting power for screen to back of radio without any guide on how to physically get radio out. I instead found it easier to pull out section of dash with cigarette lighter power sockets and connect power from the back of one of those.

It is very easy to take off the license plate lamp without taking off the shroud. That will save you a lot of trouble. I just tried.

The important step of routing the cable from the trunk to the inside of the camry is missing. Where exactly is the small gap?

Umm... I don't know if you are joking but just use a 10mm socket or wrench and loosen the negative terminal and take it off and snuck it away somewhere.

This was 7 years ago so the cost of it all was more expensive but since it's more widely available, the price came down by a lot over time.

running the cable through the license plate lamp assembly will pinch the cable, you should drill a hole instead

What kind of camera gives better quality between a CCD and CMOS? Do I contact your customer service to purchase one?

martinezsjr There used to be a pretty noticeable difference between the two with CCD providing a sharper image, but CMOS technology has come a long way to the point where when you see both side-by-side, they are nearly identical. We'd suggest camera part numbers 250-8147 or 250-8117 for your application as these include RCA plugs that connect directly to the back of in-dash units made by Clarion, Pioneer, Alpine and others.
