Thank you sharing your experience in Rota Vicentina! We must disagree however that wild camping is ok "if you leave no trace". Unfortunately, wild camping has been a big issue in the region, the trace does happen and it's for that reason it's illegal. We kindly ask all your followers to understand that wild camping can contribute for a less wild coast and stricter freedom to enjoy this coast in the future, which is something we all want to avoid. Let us all follow the local rules and take care of this beautiful paradise, let's take care of Rota Vicentina all together and be sure we leave it better and never worse, for the years to come. Welcome to Rota Vicentina and enjoy your hike, the nature, the local culture and our beautiful people! 🥾🌱🌍🌈❤️

I’d suggest walking it south to north, especially later in the year. Walking south the sun and glare are in your face all day. Walking north, the light is much clearer.

You timed it just right with the sun going down at the end of the video

What percentage do backpackers generally tip when ordering at cafes or restaurants?
@thetrailhunter44694 жыл бұрын
I try to tip as much as possible. In the US it’s almost compulsory.

Nice video! Will you restart using strava?
@thetrailhunter44694 жыл бұрын
I stopped clocking my miles on strava because I found it distracting but may do again in the future.

Nice one as always. LOVE Portugal. Unrelated question, i remember that you said in a previous video you use a Katabatic quilt, many others hikers from Europe i see on youtube use Enlightened Equipement. The problem is that for us based in UK/europe its expansive to buy US brands with the import duties/ transport cost. I have been looking at Cumulus quilts (not many brands in euripe do quilts) which seem to be quite high quality +cheaper as no import taxes etc. So am just wondering why, at least in the youtube hiking community, there does not seem to be huge following (not many reviews actually etc) regarding this brand? Curious to know if you have for eg considered that one at some point? In terms of specs does not seem to be of lower quality from what i see... Cheers mate.

Cheers Victor! I went for a katabatic quilt for my first one because I’m a fan of John Z who recommended it. They’re incredibly well made and a very good quality and I like the design. So I’ve never felt the need to go with another brand as of yet.

Hiking this in April with my dad. I'm a little concerned about the stoned caravan gang. Is it really bad and you should ignore them entirely? Think you mentioned you got a lift to Lisbon, but should be easy enough to get a bus back right? Cheers

Smile and keep walking. If that doesn't work, funny how I sometime lose my ability to speak the local tongue as I pass by.
@thetrailhunter44694 жыл бұрын
Ahh yeah don’t worry about them. Just walk through or avoid them completely. I could’ve taken a route around the caravans or walked closer to the beach. Yes it’s definitely fine to get the bus back to Lisbon. I was very lucky and grateful for my ride though. 👍 enjoy the trail! It’s beauts.
