Rotary - efficient milking routine

I’m gonna sound kinda not intelligent for a moment but I’m kinda confused. So the machine keeps going around and around. Got questions. How does it work with it going around and around. Wouldn’t the cord get wrapped around things for power. Second. How does the milk get from the machine to the tank. It’s going around and around. Wouldn’t lines get wrapped around things.

For cables a slip ring is used and there are similar mechanical devices for vacuum and milk pipes.

Good question mate. There is a gland that allows power, milk, water, vacuum, air through. It’s quite a spectacular thing to see. If you can, ask a local farmer for a tour of a rotary somewhere, I’m sure someone can make that happen for you.

I think the best rotation time will be 9 minutes. IT will have all the cows milked by the time they exit.
