Thank you so much for these videos. I just walked outside to look at my engine and trans mounts and discovered a stock trans mount paired with the solid billet engine mounts. I just got the car a couple months ago and I’m so glad you said something about that, as I’ll be ordering all poly mounts now. The fact that my fc is stock engine and makes like 150 whp is probably the only reason I haven’t cracked my rear iron lmao

First gen front cover fits an s1 rx8 keg but not an s2. Something to do with the water pump I believe.

Great video. I just recently resealed my oil pan and front cover after doing a quick check. I used the correct o ring on the driver's side oil passage and used permatex without a gasket as mazdatrix recommends. After starting the car and checking for leaks I noticed I lost about 250ml or more from between the front cover, near the 10 o'clock bolt that is underneath the waterpump. My omp was blocked off and is holding from what I can see. I did manage to tighten that bolt down a pretty decent amount but my question and concern is, should there even be that amount of oil free flowing behind the front cover? From what I understand it should all be kept within the casted passageways or is this normal? Am I able to just snug the front cover down and no worries or is there something happening underneath the front cover that needs attention?!

Not sure what would cause a leak on that side of the cover and up that high, behind the distributor is a pin hole that feeds oil to the front cover which may leak. But I havent seen a leak on the omp side of the front cover unless its the omp leaking

The 12at is fuel injected, it has 2 injector ports in the center iron and throttle body injection. It has the short style ports

I have a 83 gsl 12a car, I'm looking into running an aftermarket oil cooler and ditching the factory beehive. I have a elite rotary oil pedestal but I cant find any info on what fitting to use on the front iron where the oil line is. I'd like to be able to run AN fittings. By chance do you know the thread pitch or what AN fitting will work on the front cover driver side?

I would like to run spec miata tires on my fb but would have to run wheel spacers to adapt to the 4x100 pattern. I've never messed with adapter plates before and it kinda sketches me out a bit. Would you trust them? Used spec miata rims are alot easier to come by than anything fb related for me.

As long as the hub bore matches the bore on the adapter. Go for it. I know a guy who has raced rally events in an FB with 4x110 to 4x100 adapters and Honda civic wheels

12A turbo (factory, ie in Savanna RX-7 GT in Japan) most definitely is fuel injected. Unsure where their injectors are though.

Will an S5 NA center iron work on a S4 T2 engine? I noticed that the ports are smaller on the NA and ive read that it will work but just making sure. Thanks in advance

It will but you won't have a provision for the center Lower intake manifold bolt. On a T2 engine they have a 4 inch or so long bolt that goes in the center above the ports on the center iron. My guess to help prevent air leaks in boost. Should be ok without it

12A turbo's are fuel injected. That was my first project on my rx2.

Has anybody taken a 6-port FC end housing and made it into a '4 port' housing by making the '2 round ports' into one 'tall port' and on the face; join the twp ports into one; is there anything to be gained by doing that?? Any downside?

Can you use s4 na housings with s5 t2 irons?

Yes, The NA housings have an exhaust diffuser that you can cut out, but otherwise yes.
