Oh my friend... I love your incredible collection! And I thought I was crazy for collecting the small Western Electric display I have. You have EVERY telephone I have PLUS everything else I want. My guess is that you live in England because you do seem to have more of those beautiful GPO models than the Bell System phones. You also have my FAVORITE British Telecom phone the "Trim Phone"... I think that's what you blokes call a model 742. Congratulations on a job well done! 😂 Love it! ❤

At about 5:00, you show a Bell System Trimline phone with a pushbutton dial. The rotary dial version had a smaller than standard size dial. The finger stop moved so the dial could be made smaller. Apparently absent from your collection is the Alexander Graham Plane phone, made by Northern Telecom in Canada. The rotary dial was built into the propeller.

I have that very same phone at my old man's work shop, the phone is built in such way that u can use it has a table phone or if u rotate the rotary 180 degrees(u have to take the unit apart) u can mount it on a wall and it becomes a wall phone, really cool unit.

This Soviet one is an RWT CB664 made in Poland made for export, hence the Cyrillic letters on the dial. The clam telephone is made in USA by Teleconcepts. Model is called the "Shellamar" made in the late 70s/ early 80s.

Can you plug an answering machine to a rotary phone?
@mariagdesjardin10005 жыл бұрын
Yes, as long as the phone (and the house) has those plastic clip plug things. Answering machine plugs into the wall, phone plugs into the answering machine. If the phone has no clip, just wires, you would need to buy and install the clip first, which is not terribly hard.
