Absolutely a pleasure to watch and listen to Jason polish. The upmost respect. I was petrified of the rotary before watching your videos last year and now I’m hooked. Finishing always with the rotary and red jeweling pad. The gloss is off the charts and my clients have been blown away with the results. Once again thanks for elevating my quality and increasing my quality.

I am head over heels for the rotary. It's not as scary as I thought. I love the way it finishes. I almost want to park my da and just use the rotary, but I see the benefit of each

Beautiful work as the Ferrari has depth and gloss. These are great tips to learn because they make life easier. Thank you for the master class in glossing up the paint.

It’s great to see 60+ years of experience in one video. I know you guys always talk about preserving but how bad is it to polish a car once or twice a year with the red jeweling pad and the gold standard polish? Does this combo remove too much clear?
@diydetailofficial
@diydetailofficial Ай бұрын
Better to protect with a coating and use safe wash techniques to prevent having to polish. Every time you polish you remove paint

@@diydetailofficial In every field of expertise, there are some passionate people that got tired of being uneducated cash cows, forced to use products that cause more problems then they solve. They petitioned the big players to no avail. So they hired chemists, metallurgists, engineers and physicists to solve the problems. Those professionals told them the solution will be too expensive and no one will buy it. They over looked how frustrated the field of expertise is with wasting their time and money. I find those passionate people in whatever field of expertise I am involved in. They are often unpopular due to affecting certain entities profitability. One popular brand was quoted online as saying pad washers are bad and they wreck your polishing pads. Look at the big quality brands of polishers and discern which line has BOTH a 21mm+ long throw, free spinning DA and a rotary that goes down to 600 rpm without overheating long term and fast enough to spin out after pad cleaning. Just say'in. In my opinion, Yvan and Jason, you are two of those passionate people who just want to share so they can help others to succeed. Compensation naturally follows. Thank you for remaining students. Otherwise we would be forced to muddle around in the chaos and mediocrity that was there before you. Or we would have to hire those professionals and work it out ourselves. If you must decline "Masters", lets go with "Passionate Craftsmen". Your contribution to the industry is greatly appreciated.

I thought I heard Ivan to not angle the rotary in the runway method. I haven't polished before and going to start on my own car. Why would a runway angle damage the paint and a slight angle Wouldn't?? Also what if im polishing a corner and I do polish over rubber or plastic trim?? Thanks.
@diydetailofficial
@diydetailofficial Ай бұрын
Too high of an angle will cause pressure points. You can polish trim with DIY Detail Gold Standard Polish and a finishing pad.

Jason handles and glides through the curvatures of the Ferrari with that rotary as i do with a DA. Very tempting to give a rotary polisher a try. What aspects if any with using a rotary should be considered when polishing a substrate if you know how to handle a DA?
@diydetailofficial
@diydetailofficial Ай бұрын
Let’s just say he has some experience… You want a minimum speed of 500-800 rpm, and a maximum speed of at least 2400. The rest is all personal preference. You will want to keep the pad clean, damp and as flat to the surface as practical, with no pressure.
