Smuggle is just soooooo good. I've been playing a Golgari Smuggler deck where the early game is set up for removal and everyone's favorite snake pony. Then when you turn 4 Smuggle and put a Vein Ripper or two in play the game is pretty much over. I play 1 Ghalta Stampede Tyrant just because what's better than 2 free giant creatures? An entire handful of creatures, of course. The high casting cost creatures in the deck to be Smuggled also work incredibly well with Caustic Bronto, hitting for 6 or 7 damage when the snake horse gets lucky. Mosswood Dreadknights mount the Bronco and enable card draw that also pairs with the couple copies of Sheoldred I run. Smuggler's Surprise was the glue that I feel Golgari was needing in standard. It is just such a fun, versatile, and explosive card that works in a bunch of different decks.

Having the one of Calamity in first four games was pretty nice NGL..Pretty kool you play more than just a couple of matches seeing various matches against different decks really helps when brewing. Have you made a green/black variation of smugglers surprise? Instant speed Phyrexian Obliterator sounds so jank but yet so spicey.

I never have luck building surprise decks. Arena seems to magically put me up against counter decks. But this looks interesting.

Literally me. ANY time I play a combo deck I get nothing but control players or hyper aggro. The midrange and ramp players magically disappear. You can't tell me curated matchmaking isn't a thing.

That's the risk of playing best of 1, could try B03. ?. It defiantly helps having a sideboard vs those decks or a juke plan in sb to try a different non combo approach.

Feels like some non-legendary big boys would be better in the place of Bonnie and Etali, at least if the plan is to lean into calamity. Gruff Triplets and Calamity in particular go EXTREMELY well together

Nah. There's only one Calamity. I've actualy won without it more than with it. Just the way the recorded games came out. Also, those are good for individual situations where you need to make emergency blockers since you often get two blockers. Triplets, sadly just recreates a 3/3 attacker. You definitely get bigger creatures at the end of turn, but with Calamity, I'd rather have the sizable thing on attack to end the game and not give up another turn. All that said, if you want to change it, go for it. None of my lists (nor others) should really be sonsidered to be set in stone. If there are other fun cards you want to play, you should. Maximize your enjoyment playing cards you like.

Honestly a decent chunk of stuff I've put up lately onlt need 2-6 cards changed to still be Standard legal. So, I'd imagine sveral creators a chunk of stuff you'll still be able to play. But also, don't forget that the metagame will change, which can change the effectiveness of a deck, as well as new cards that may get added to these lists.

Hey Dragon, would you be willing to brew around Kylox's Voltstrider? I found out today you can recycle Adventure spells with it. After you collect evidence to make it a creature, you can cast any adventure mode on the cards and have them go back into exile. Love the videos as always.

I built a deck with it a ocuple of season's ago and it felt like extra work without a bit payoff. Though, if you wanna workshop it, feel free to hop in the Discord (linked in the description). We always have people working on a variety of decks in there. Never know what can be figured out.

I don't understand what happened first game? Why did 2 terrors get summoned? I get the first was saddled to calamity, but shouldn't that of just made 1 extra terror, proccing one attack? why were 2 summoned on the saddle trigger?

I'm not sure I understand. That's literally what Calamity does. It makes two copies.
