No it is an accelerated point so a non inertial frame of reference hence psuedoforces will act at cm which will produce a non-zero torque ABT the point O

Normal reaction is perpendicular to the contact surface. For a spherical surface perpendicular must pass through the center of sphere.

For just after release case there is NO velocity and angular velocity. And hence no centrepetal acceleration
