To get the air brakes to release on the International. Press down firmly on the brake pedal. Then push the brake release at the same time.

The Thomas/Freightliner C2 you don't have to press as hard on the brake pedal to get it to release.
@GLOATINGMAPLE014 жыл бұрын
That is right you don't have to do that on a c2 because c2s that have hydraulic brakes are mechanical parking brakea
@johnwelton24575 жыл бұрын
Just wondering why you don't tow it from the rear and tie off and secure the steering wheel.

Must be hydraulic brakes, sense you didn't feed it any air. It's weird seeing a bus that size and it's NOT air brakes...
@stanpatterson50336 жыл бұрын
It's air brakes. If it has that yellow push valve on the dash, that's air brake spring brake control for parking.
@cw33396 жыл бұрын
@@stanpatterson5033 Not always and I did NOT see a an air gauge in the dash. I paused it and zoomed nope no air gauge! A church that I drove for had 2 buses a 38 passenger front engine bluebird with hydraulic brakes, and a 58 passenger bluebird pusher with air brakes. The bus he towed looked bigger then a 38 passenger, which fooled me to believe that it was larger and required air brakes.
@stanpatterson50336 жыл бұрын
Well, okay, I've never heard of or seen a hydraulic system that uses that sort of valve for the parking brake, but I suppose that anything is possible the way things go these days. Now I've got to go back too, and see if I can see what the label on that yellow valve says..... ..... ...... And the valve looks like a standard-issue air valve, but evidently looks can be deceiving. I guess I've learned something new today. We're going backwards, back to hydraulic with (sounds like electric power assist) parking brakes. So how does that work if/when the electrical system goes for a shit? Can't "leave it in gear" because it's a crapomatic. They truly are building everything for wimps to drive nowadays :)
@RattiusHattus6 жыл бұрын
They probably cut out the part where Jay caged the rear brake chambers. He was still underneath the bus after finishing dropping the driveshaft.

I've watched several of your recovery videos, but none are as "entertaining" as this channel : kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKuro5ygoLODjdE --I think it is Russia. Also countries like Sweden have lots of amazing recovery videos due to snow. Comparing equipment, you and your truck are like 21st century vs WWII. You are lucky to have such awesome truck and skills to operate it.
