This is how I installed my experimental bearing spacers on a Rotax 583, 582, crankshaft. This was done in an effort to get more life out of the main bearings on the crankshaft.

how do they change out the connecting rod bearings? I got a skidoo 503 from 1997, are those bearings good enough to spin a prop with or do they need to be upgraded?

The bearings are standard, and you can get them from any bearing shop. There are snowmo places that can sell you new rods if you need them, but you need to know how to use loctite and line up the crank to use them.

Far as I know, the bearings are the same. You can get needles at beaing supply outlets.

@@Adventurepilot70 can you take this crank apart yourself and get at the inner bearings and seals? is there a press adapter tool? or do you just send it to someone?

@@embededfabrication4482 special tools are needed. If you know your bearings are bad, better send it to someone.
