Would have liked to see something more than a high elevation LOS range test. Low altitude with obstacle interference would have been a practical test.

Great test! Looks like for LOS flight the 01 is nearly as good as the 02. As someone else said already though, a lower altitude test with buildings, forests, or hills - or all three - in the way would be great to see too.

su35supaflanka it should be fine, it also depends how long you will be using the FPV camera for ! I'm planning on using the pre-existing plug for the light on the MJX bugs 3, basically anything between 3v-5v should work !

Thanks for the info. I came to youtube to search for others with this device and how the quality of the videos are which is pretty bad. Does it depend on what camera you are using or is it the receiver. I know when watched on the application with my phone it show clear but crappy in the saved videos.

725 meters for receiving a 800mw signal? That's something strange! I remember few years ago i was able to fly over 1km with just 200mw video transmiiter, used some Boscam tx and rx. Are these OTG receivers so bad, or rather antennas are not good?

I could have pushed it way farther... Maybe it was the max distance of the drone I've used. Anyway it's an older video of mine and now I use better methods to test max ranges :-)

Is it not possible to connect directly to the camera that comes with the drone itself and broadcasts? Via WIFI 5GHZ? Why do you need to mount a separate camera?

No it's not possible. You need to connect an analog camera to a 5.8GHz VTX and then you will be able to use the ROTG VRX.

The phone interface via the Android app does not support audio. I am surprised that it didn't work as well using the JST connector, although I didn't test it out myself...

@@KremerFPV Hey Gal, thanks for your reply. Tried with Eachine TX805S, ZOHD VC400 and Succex Force 800mw VTX's, using TBS Triumph and patch antennas. Frequency is spot on, I always use A5 channel. more or less unusable, OSD is blurry, numbers unreadable in most cases. I just ordered Eachine Moneagle 5 inch diversity screen, so I can atleast have something on my workbench and for spectators on field.

"crystal" clear in goggles. maybe it's my Galaxy Tab3 and my phone. they don't actually meet the requrements for that specific driver and OTG to work, but somehow they work. maybe it's not fully supported and the reason lies there.

When I compare FPV cameras - I connect the cameras directly to DVR units, in order to eliminate the interruptions. In this video I used only one VTX connected to the camera, and I don't think the receivers affect each other.

Save the added hassle of buying/fitting 2 bespoke antennas. Simply use 100 or 200Mw Tx power .. IF ?.. it it becomes necessary in your particular environs..

Gal Kremer no, I didn't miss the point, you compared two receivers with different antennas, it's not a fair or accurate test and not even what diversity ws designed for. diversity was actually designed for using multiple antennas of the same type but in different locations and/or orientation. you used a high gain antenna as one antenna on the diversity, a complete unfair comparison and offers absolutely no scientific information on the diversity performance as it will always remain locked on the high gain. farcical test probably for a well known retail outlet who provided a free sample for a guaranteed positive review don't do tests if your not going to actually 'test' this wasn't a test, the high gain rigged it from the outset and essentially broke what the diversity should be tested on.

Depends on what use you give "diversity" to. It is supposed to mean 2 different frequencies in one receiver, which neither the 01 or 02 are.

diversity is two difference receivers not frequencies, the rot02 is a true diversity receiver, it has two separate modules inside.
