@cryptonator19882 жыл бұрын
This gem reminds me of a cleaner version of the og defiant.. for me because i throw it similar to you the defiant core grabs so early and slows down so much in the backend that you really need to rev match with speed for the revs your throwing. What i mean is you really need to get around the ball and give it time to read the lane cause it reads so early.. like if you throw faster you better get around the ball faster.. if you throw slower you better come around the ball slower if that makes sense at least for me.. i remember walking in on league night with the og defiant nobody owned the ball the few that tested it said they couldn't throw it.. after they seen me strike all night the next week like 10 people had the defiant but nobody figured out how to throw the ball. I actually had to full change my release and really find a new way to come over the top and around the ball more and then i was unstoppable.. forward motion this core doesn't like much it likes when you come around the ball more or change the axis.. anyways i might have to get the gem because if its anything like the original defiant its going to be a beast for me..

In my bag right now believe it or not is the storm surelock and the og black widow might be the og black widow pearl i bowled my first 300 game with it like 15yrs ago. I think its time for a bag upgrade i need a strong pearl, and maybe an asymmetrical solid and a symmetrical solid. Im thinking i have to get idol helios, gem and what do you recommend for a pearl the wolverine or zen? I throw it similar to you. I throw it about 14-16mph consistently and idk what my rev rate is but id assume its around 280-350 so low rev slow speed. Ive never had a ball hook to much i couldn't control. Lou, the results of this comparison shouldn't be surprising if you threw both the Defiant and the VG NANO back in the day. The Defiant did the same thing the Gem is doing now and I polished mine immediately after trying to throw it at GC for 2 games. Checked early, and had to keep it in the oil to see anything good. The shine made it more usable on but still retained its original characteristics and a fun comparison I'll be doing is Gem vs. Defiant Soul. Paragon LRG vs Paragon, 77H Hybrid vs MicroTrax. 👀👀👀

Shape would be a fast transition downlane and continuation would be a slow gradual motion! 1500 polish would be much longer and angular compared to 1500 sanded
@stompingpeak20432 жыл бұрын
For me I always have to polish these big balls but I don't throw more than 16mph. If I don't they always hit weak unless I throw it absolutely perfect. If you have more average speed you will probably like the sanded surface more. Since the reaction will look more consistent. I'm confused on what new solid asymmetrical ball to purchase. I really enjoy all your videos because they are informative and also very educational. I'm stuck between the Gem, Super Nova, and Proton Physix. I currently own a Snaplock (Asymmetric Pearl Reactive), Phase 3 (Symmetrical Hybrid Reactive), Unhinged (Symmetrical Reactive Pearl), and a Shift (Asymmetrical Pear particle). I use my snaplock and phase 3 the most. I'm a down and in low Rev player with average sweet spot speed of 14.3 or 14.4 and sometimes faster in 15s as lanes dry up. My sweet spot is left foot on board 25.5 and looking with my eye at board 7 and the ball goes right around second arrow in league typical house pattern. I do drift when I bowl but I play my drift and adjust. If someone could leave a comment on some advice as to a new solid asymmetrical I would appreciate it. I'm also going to purchase a used High Road Pearl from my friend to combat really beat up dry transition for my competitive men's league I'm in. I also bowl in a less competitive older adult Saturday mixed league which I seem to average better in than my Tuesday men's league.

It had no core in it. Often only 14lbs and up have dynamic cores. Anyways, I have since purchased a urethane ball for when my pearl is too strong on the dry. I think there is more of a difference than just the color but yea both are very strong!

proton looks more angular and will bail you out if you pitch it into the oil while the gem can easily burn out and leave the corners. you can swing the proton while the gem needs straighter angles. just what my eye sees

Absolute, proton physix, Gem, exotic gem... Which one would you say is the strongest now?
@LuisNapoles Жыл бұрын
Absolute would be the weakest there BY A LOT its the proton for me

pretty sure your proton is nowhere near 2000 grit anymore. it almost looks polished. the alley lighting is quite defined and the table reflection is almost discernible.
@LuisNapoles2 жыл бұрын
It’s definitely at 2000 as I did the surface before filming

Hey man, are you free again! No Mask! About time we get to see you without a face diaper. Gem looking good.
@LuisNapoles2 жыл бұрын
I’ve always been free. Still wear a mask when not filming

Just a little note, it looks like your back swing is a little out of control again. Just in case you weren't already aware (I'm sure you are!) I'm actually shocked that a company was able to make something comparable to the Proton. But, I guess if it would be any of them, it would be 900 or Roto. EDIT: AGAIN, if I just listened a little longer... Hahahaha.
