I liked the video 15 seconds in strictly because of the opening. Props Luke.

Thank you so much for having me get the street fight. I already got a 300 and a 790 series with it, it just rolls so well on everything. Espiecally our fresh house shot and handles transition amazing. I can’t wait for high school bowling to start up, it’s going to be great :)

Sweet!!! Lot better ball than it got credit for.

This ball hits HARD! Very strong but very controlled. Seems like it wants turn over early, yet holds a bit longer than expected, stores energy though the heads then turns over and drives. Great ball.

So much better 👌👌 thanks for the re upload again Luke. The ball looks nice. I’m sadly not getting anything new due to the fact I’m buying 3 balls lol but I still enjoy watching you throw new stuff . Keep er goin ✌️

Hi I really enjoy your info and explanations of the ball reactions. Thank you I throw a Hot cell Roto G Urethane. I throw one handed no thumb. Do you have any suggestions for a more reactive ball for my style of throw, as the oil drags down the lane ? Especially with my Urethane I get alot of drift late in league play

Got my Halo last week.. Drilled it straight away 55 x 5.5 x 35 First full game with it out the box. I shot my 10th 300 game.. And then proceeded to have the front 6 of game 2 Until unfortunately the look disappeared and I had to put it away

Brian gillespie Sweet! Yeah it will beat up a shot pretty quick out of box

Luke Rosdahl it really reminded me of the OG virtual Gravity, the way it saw the Midlane (a little earlier than the vg did though) but still have enough energy downlane and through the pins

The Code X looked like the strongest ball from my vantage point.
@LukeRosdahl6 жыл бұрын
Depends on your definition, on total hook it isn't, but it does have the strongest move of the three on the backend.

I'm high track, low tilt with a classic release. Tweener with relatively low ball speed (around 14.5mph according to the scoreboard). I normally use Mo Pinel's High Track layout 85 x 4.5 x 45. Do you recommend that layout for this ball?
@LukeRosdahl5 жыл бұрын
Yeah that actually sounds pretty good.

Luke what would be a good option for a ball. Currently have a code x, hustle hyb, snap lock, marvel pearl, and hy road. I bowl mostly sport conditions and am starting college bowling in the fall. I’m looking for a new ball to fill any gaps in the arsenal. Rev rate around 270 and speed around 15.

Great video Luke. Getting a new ball for heavier oil. Would you recommend Halo or Katana Dragon?
@LukeRosdahl6 жыл бұрын
The Dragon does look really good to be honest, I just went and watched the video for it and it looks like it's a bit quicker on the backend than the Halo. Maybe that's a good thing, maybe that's a bad thing, depends on the bowler, but naturally I'm a Storm/Roto guy and a HUGE fan of the Nano cover so I'd suggest the Halo but I really can't knock the Dragon.

How do you know what kinds of bowling balls you can expect to match up with? Is there a general rule of thumb based on tilt/axis rotation or is it just trial and error? Thanks for all of your awesome videos!
@LukeRosdahl6 жыл бұрын
A lot is trial and error, sometimes I think something will be great and it sucks, other times I'm expecting a ball to suck and it blows me away. Sucks that it works that way, sometimes you get an expensive boat anchor, but it is what it is. Most of the time I know what I'm going to like based on what I've liked in the past. Knew I was going to love the Idol.
@Remark9976 жыл бұрын
Luke Rosdahl thanks for the reply! I think I’m starting to get to know what works for me by trial and error. I’ve had a few boat anchors in my day, lol. Thanks again for your videos, I’ve learned a lot from them.

Hey Luke, I got a street fight for garbage time lanes and was confused on a layout. I want the ball to get past the dryer heads but still be smooth and strong downlane. I was thinking a 45 x 5 x 45 layout. I am a 250 rev stroker btw. So what would you recommend for the layout?
@LukeRosdahl6 жыл бұрын
I like it, great looking layout for your specs and great ball choice to begin with, I think you're in business.

Hi, Luke. I am really looking for a ball that can be used for a long pattern such as the 50' and 52' patterns. We just got back from Junior Gold in Detroit. After seeing the pattern, I learned that my son struggled on the long pattern (50'). What can you advise him as far as tackling a long pattern? As far as ball is concern, what type of ball should he use? Will Surelock or this ball work on these patterns? Thank you so much.
@LukeRosdahl5 жыл бұрын
Sure Lock, Halo, or Halo Vision would be pretty good options. Vision will have the most backend and Sure Lock and Halo are pretty close

@georgeguinea93596 жыл бұрын
Hello Luke, great video:) If you can remember me, I was dropping down my ball weight(16-15). I have the Show Off now and was going to get Idol. Wanted to wait to see what Roto would come out with. SO wasn’t making the turn to the pocket when the lanes had a little bit more oil than usual (both mechanics have their own idea of how much to use😠😠). So getting the Idol was my next ball. Halo looks awesome. I had the Exist and I didn’t match up with it. It just never really made the turn for me. I don’t know if it was the layout we chose (drilled ring finger over pin). Not that ASYMS don’t work for me. My Fused is pin up over ring finger and it’s my best hook motion ball. Would you say that the Halo similar to the Fused but much more aggressive??? Thanks again Luke.
@LukeRosdahl6 жыл бұрын
Halo doesn't shape like the Fused at all, the Halo actually acts a lot like what the Exist should have been, much more versatile, more forgiving, and not lazy on the backend like the Exist was. It was just that ball, mine had a very small window of usable situations, but the Halo is a huge improvement. Similar motion, doesn't suck lol.
@georgeguinea93596 жыл бұрын
Thanks again Luke, that’s exactly how my Exist was LAZY. Lol. Going to put in an order for mine tonight!!!! I appreciate your quick response Luke 👍👍👍.

how does this compare to the Ebonite Choice? would they compliment each other or are they pretty similar?
@LukeRosdahl6 жыл бұрын
Jerry Alexander I think they would compliment each other, Choice acts a lot like the Gauntlet, and I don’t see many similarities between the Halo and Choice. Tamer would have a lot better idea, I don’t think he’s thrown the Halo yet but I know he has one coming soon. Have you seen the Tamer Bowling Choice video?
@williamjones41856 жыл бұрын
I need a new Super aggressive ball, as my original no rules has started leaving a concerning amount of 10 pins. Would the halo or the sure-lock be a better bet?
@jacewelsh85376 жыл бұрын
William Jones sure lock is different than halo. Sure lock is sharper on the backend even though both are solid bowling balls. It depends on what you want. If you need a strong ball on a regular house shot I would suggest a hybrid ball not a solid ball. I would suggest the intense fire.
@williamjones41856 жыл бұрын
jace welsh nah, I'm gearing more for sport shot. I already have the original intense and the DDD for polished. I would like the new high end solid for heavy oil / long sportshots

Over 350 revs, go Halo, under, go Sure Lock.
@williamjones41856 жыл бұрын

How would this ball fare with a low flare layout like 90x2.25x45?
@LukeRosdahl6 жыл бұрын
Would make it more continuous, would still give it some shape due to those angles, but with a lot of length and a lower flaring pin, could make it a bit inconsistent at the breakpoint.
@bwhitejr10896 жыл бұрын
Good to know, thanks!

Code X, Idol or Halo is the best on heavy oil? Looking for something smooth roll not a back snap turn.
@LukeRosdahl6 жыл бұрын
If you're looking for the smoothest, Idol is going to be that. They're all pretty smooth though, depends on if you want a sym or an asym though. Halo handles the most oil of the 3, not by a ton but it does.
@mr.bacondestroyer25236 жыл бұрын
How does this compare to the dare devil danger
@LukeRosdahl6 жыл бұрын
About as opposite as you can get. This is very even, it's an asym solid, hooks a bunch. Danger is a polished hybrid with a symmetric core, it's longer and stronger. Great compliments, but don't compare at all.

Hi there! Love your reviews. I've been away form the game for about 14 years and am thinking about jumping back in but don't know where to start when it comes to equipment now. I used to use a Throttle-R and an Eraser Boost PBT mostly. Are there any modern equivalents to these? I'm a low rev player if that helps. Thanks a lot.
@LukeRosdahl6 жыл бұрын
Hyroad is really close to the Eraser Boost, I had a Boost and LOVED it. Closest thing to the Throttle-R (had several friends that had and loved those) would be the Intense Fire. I've got videos for both if you want to check them out (Hyroad video had some technical issues so sorry about the picture quality).

Luke Rosdahl thank you so much for the reply that's really helpful! Just from a pure aesthetic point of view I really like the Halo, would this be something I would ok with as well or best to avoid as a returning low rev player?
