The Elecrow ESP Terminal, centered around the ESP32-S3 microcontroller, is equipped with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, 16MB Flash, and 8MB PSRAM, highlighting its potential as a powerful control unit for various applications. We delve into its features, including the 3.5-inch TFT touchscreen display with a resolution of 480*320, capacitive touch interface, and expansion options through HY2.0 connectors specifically designed for Elecrow sensors. Despite its audio limitations, having only a buzzer, and the design considerations regarding the battery port placement, the video emphasizes the device's utility and customization potential for tech enthusiasts. Additionally, we explore the comprehensive documentation provided by Elecrow, emphasizing its value in facilitating a deeper understanding and application of the device in DIY electronics projects. The objective is to equip viewers with a thorough understanding of the ESP Terminal's technical specifications and practical applications, rather than focusing on selling the product.

It’s literally just a programmable screen. It does whatever you code it to do. Think of it like the electronics version of a blank canvas, it could be any painting you choose to paint

This is great. I've been looking for a dodongle with enough ports to plug in all my flibberjibbets. Very useful.

A few things since I'm stoned and have let this repeat a dozen times trying to reply lol. I'd love to get one of those to mess with, but being based off a Wroom instead of a Wrover is disappointing not having PSRAM. It may not always be needed, but it's nice to have for expanded options with designs. Also, those connectors don't seem that uncommon, at least with microcontrollers. I'm even incorporating them into my newest handheld game console design using an ESP32-Wroom-32D SoC and an ILI9341 tft. They're also standard in the M5Stack line of products and others like it. With those, they make connecting things via UART super easy compared to having to wire multiple data and power connections separately. Anyway, nice video. Great description of the device and I loved the closeups. Other channels don't do it as much or as cinematically.

Oh hey I have one of these, it just didnt come with a nice shell, its just a yellow board they put in like an altoids tin, but its the same, same demo and all. Theyre neato, I think I wanna make it into some kinda remote control/terminal thing for all my projects.

The ESP32 is my go-to microcontroller, alongside the ESP-8266. Dirt cheap, decently powerful, easy to program PLUS they have wifi.

Is it possible to run a browser-type app on this thing? I’m thinking octoprint’s web interface
@3drakaina
@3drakaina 2 ай бұрын
With the limited ram, I doubt you'll find or even be able to write your own browser that will work. But since the OctoPrint interface is just HTTP, you could probably write a simple program to connect to the OctoPrint host, but create a simple program to interact with it on the terminal instead of just accessing the web page. I'm tempted to do this too so I'm just thinking out loud lol. Which too, that would probably mean I could make it work for the Cardputer too. Hmm...
