Terry & the whole band were iconic for more than a few of us during our teenage years and much more sadness is created by their passing as their family and fans are robbed of their presence and talent. I long for the return of the Ska days from my youth but I will always be grateful that Terry and many others bands sang it loud in the 2-Tone days of the 70's and 80's.

I hear you my friend. I first saw The Specials at the Hope & Anchor in Islington way back in 1980. Was at every show on the first 2Tone Tour, officially selling merch, but the band told me to just sell the little round badges and keep the money to get to the next gig. What class eh. Damn but I miss Terry so much. R.I.P Terry Hall and Bradders.

Let’s celebrate The Specials and Terry Hall. Wow what a fantastic band !! I was a teenager in the early 80s and remember my teacher pointing to and asking me about my button badge. There’s me trying my best to explain what the specials music is about to my teacher. I had the privilege of seeing The Specials live in Cork, Ireland in 2012. One of the best concerts I ever went to. Adios Terry. What a legend.

Tickets go on sale today for The Specials live in my home town of Halifax west Yorkshire, that's Bad Manners, The Selecter and now the kings of 2 Tone all played in the small market town. Maybe not the band they once were back in the day but its still a dream come true having them coming to play quite literally on my doorstep, who knows maybe Madness could be next to appear in our pokey little town?...bring it on I say.

Me too. Grew up on the specials....sadley never saw them play live. Love Nyman's music and saw him live several times and met the gentleman. This recording is breathtaking..found it accidentally. I saw the Chemical Brother's in Poland they had no back of band....instead they played the entire album of Kraftwerk's album The Man machine....outstanding. My cheap record player never produce the quality of sound that I heard at that live gig. I was in heaven and so is Terry.

Well the Drummers do lead in bands, and as much as I enjoyed this gig I did notice that the drummer wasn’t totally in the groove and it looked like he just kept up like a stand in drummer. Even though there was a bit of energy missing they’re still Special.

If I went to see the specials and it was this setup I'd be so disappointed. No disrespect to these guys but this has the feeling of a deflating balloon. Having no Neville Staples seems to have sucked the soul out of the band. Likewise Roddy Radiation. They really need them. Lynval tries to fill the gap manfully but the yawning hole is impossible to fill.

Well, I basically agree, the original reunion line up was more energetic. Must to point out that Sunsplash is one of the most important reggae concerts in Europe. The band rearranged and proposed a reggae tinged track list! Specials were and are still one of the best band. Never disappointing anyway.....

As much as I like the specials, there comes a time when enough is enough. Terry hall, Horace panter and lynval golding don't make the specials. Pretty upsetting really, when you consider what impact they had on the whole music scene.
