In louisiana we call those dandy cleanouts without a sweep, a test tee. We use those to test new add ons to sewer lines.

7In steel cutter on a 4 inch grinder...BEST way to cut out cast! :)...Don't know if you seen them yet but the Diablo 6 in. Carbide Recip Blades for Thick Metal Cutting, Are KILLER...For that finish cut; they're perfect...Like BUTTAH!

Were the studs rotted at the floor from the leaky pipe, and maybe your work was preparatory to the carpenters finishing their work?
