I am born and raised in Rotterdam, and it's something you can't explain. It's some type of feeling, some kind of pride. The germans bombed it to the groud and when I see it today it sends shivers down my spine, litterally started from the bottom but now we are here.

Lived the largest part of my life in Rotterdam and still work there. The mentality of its inhabitants is no bullshitting. Straigt to the point, direct, honest and proud. They say Amsterdam has it, but believe me Rotterdam doesn't need it. The realy only city in the Netherlands (my humble opinion...haha)

In the Netherlands, Rotterdam is one of its kind really. Famous for its port and therefore its no time for bullshit inhabitants. Rotterdammers are proud of what has been achieved since WW2 (so am I) The last decade the city has charged dramatically, for the good. People are proud and not affraid to show it.

Thanks for ur great video with this song and respect for ur work. 😃 U have a great youtube channel what is respectfull and culture friendly and thats what we need more in this world. And no u dont need to be born in Rotterdam to be welcome here because the city pretty much speaks for its own. If u come here u will understand but for outsiders it can be a huge culture shock. I live near Amsterdam my whole life, and for me there's one city I really love: Rotterdam. The history, the people, the 'rawness', the great city centre and of course Feyenoord and the beautiful Kuip. Also it's the only city in the Netherlands with a skyline. I think it's a hidden treasure, whereas most tourist go (automatically) to Amsterdam I think they really miss out if they don't visit Rotterdam. Please if you ever go to the Netherlands give it a go!

We moved away in 1986, I worked in Rotterdam till the day I moved. Eventhough I was born there, I didn't really like the city. A few months ago I went back with my cousins and my sister and started seeing Rotterdam as a 'tourist' and started to see the beautiful things. The architecture, etc and yes, I do see it now. I still wouldn't want to live there, but I don't want to live in any city, but I can understand why people love it and I'm proud I was born there. And no matter where you move to, a 'Rotterdammer' has that 'no bullshit' character. Where I live now people might go like 'mwahhh, dunnoooo, maybeeee'. Someone from Rotterdam just says yes or no. 'Do you like it? NO'. Or "yes'. Not 'mwaahhh'. No time for being 'polite', lol, just straightforward and honest.

I was born in Scheveningen, (at the sea, part of The Hague, also a big city), but Rotterdam is something special. I now live 10 kms east from Rotterdam, but work there, and yeah, it is a city that surprises you at every streetcorner. And I like that.

Driving trough the city I always feel like I do not want to be there, yet this city calls to you and you don't want to leave either. It's a bit like owning your first car after a summer of hard work, yeah it's a rusty piece of s but you can't help but still be proud.

As a little boy i went with my father to Feyenoord and to the port of Rotterdam for his work..Later i went with friends to Feyenoord and we went to go out to Tomorrow land and Parkzicht..Now i come there at 46 still to party at an old grane silo Fabric, or for a nice dinner, and at the port for work..Do i love the city.Yes, in my free time not during working hours

I’m born in a different city but like most “Feyenoord supporters” we love the city of Rotterdam. It’s a great song but I prefer the Hermes House band version ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3nUqKejqM6narc ). Rot stad has a kind of double meaning. Rotterdam is build on the river the rotte en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotte_(river). Rot does also mean rotten. The reference to the city without a hart is because of the German bombing destroying the most of the city.

It's one of those cities born of industry, where hard work an stubborness was bred into the culture. It's a big giant mess of history, cultures, imigrations and innovations. Some people keep trying to make it 'manhatten on the Maas' by building these big impressive feats of architecture and then the people in the city laugh and ask why we would want to be compared to a city worse than ours. Like I said, it's a mess. But it's our mess and we love it.

with horror I heard this worthless song about the city where I was born, Rotterdam has been hit hard by the bombing in the second world war, Rotterdam is built on the ruins what was once a proud city, Rotterdam has the largest port in the world, it is a city where everyone says it like it is, without underhanded stuff!
