I used to not like this band because they were not fast enough for me like Marduk but Rotting Christ grew on me over time and now they are my new favorite to listen to. I’ve actually listened to this demo more than the albums and I like every release they had but this demo is just so raw and evil beyond anything.

@@TheStathis1985 I don't know if they were that big in the Nordic BM scene(which didn't seem to exist back then) back in 1989. Darkthrone as far as i know began as a Death Metal act back in 1986, but didn't begin playing Black Metal until 1991 when they started recording their second album 'A Blaze in the Northern Sky'.

First wave of black metal was named bands which played extreme thrash/speed metal and death/doom metal. Black metal was created by Burzum, Darkthrone and Mayhem. Rotting Christ never played black metal, this demo is definitily death doom metal

Bands you enumerate was thrash, death, war, doom metal not black metal, lol. Yes a lot from them was influencers of bands which created black metal but weren't black metal! Okey, I don't know very good later Rotting Christ's discography maybe they have started play black metal in other words after 92 when black metal was created. Bathory on the two first releases was Motorhead/Venom on steroids, after on two another albums was thrash metal with epic feeling and raw sounding. Black metal had been creating by those guyskzbin.info/www/bejne/fqeThX2rpaqar9E and other bands from Norway in early 90's.

Bathory was one of the most important influencers, but wasn't black metal, oh god. Very important influencer was Autopsy too, but were they black metal?? Hellhammer/Celtic Frost were influencers, but were they black metal?? First wave of black metal never exist, because bands who are name that never had been black metal just other genre of metal.

This is the sound that u cant create in a studio, the band just has it. That and it must be recorded with pretty shitty/semi good equpment. Gives it that special, raw and f*ing great sound. Their new songs are awsome as well, but this is the shit imo. (also prolly nostalgia :D, cd is still in the shelf here at home).
