Excellent video Travis! We are glad the install was that easy for you. People have been asking if it is difficult and we give it a 4 out of 10, 10 being most difficult. This is actually one of the easiest installs of any intake we make so we are excited to get them out! www.rottweilerperformance.com/fuel-air-24/

I pre-ordered a carbon intake. One question, do you have to route the wiring harness on the bottom of the subframe? Could I route it like it is in factory configuration or is there some clearance issue?
@EverySingleSunday
@EverySingleSunday 3 жыл бұрын
@@JamesLG4 It should go up along the top like it came from the factory without any issues. Although, there's not the factory location for a zip tie to hold it in place Just looks way cleaner along the bottom 🤘
@RottweilerPerformance
@RottweilerPerformance 3 жыл бұрын
@@JamesLG4 You can do either / or really. We designed it to route low to keep the top really clean and free from ugly stuff, but you can still zip tie it to the frame. It is very safe where we have it and has been raced tested many times. There is nothing down there that will touch it and down low it just disappears and makes the top look so clean. One thing Travis didn't show it that you can tuck the whole alarm plug that almost no one uses down just above the foam strip and it completely hides and you never see it.

Hi Travis, thanks for another great video. I have bought 790 a couple of months ago (I admit one of the reasons was your videos). I wonder, have you had many technical issues with your 790? Many people (including myself) are afraid of low reliability of KTMs. So far I have had oil leak from front sprocket shaft and coolant leak and a bit of brake fluid leak and hope this could be it :) Apart from leaking stuff bike is amazing (I come from F800 GS and its like day and night)

I had a leak from my front sprocket but that's the only issue I've had... And it was very minimal Hopefully everything else is taken care of on your bike by the dealership.

Great and helpful video! I wonder where is the advantage of having this air filter box above the OEM one with oiled foam filter and the Rottweiler Performance Powerplate. Having the new box, you lose the pre-filter.
@EverySingleSunday
@EverySingleSunday 3 жыл бұрын
The pre-filter is to protect the cheap crappy paper filter that comes in the bike The setup is 100 times better for anybody who rides in dirt and Dusty conditions. It's easier to wash, filters better, and makes a lot more power

I haven't ridden it yet. Still have my bike torn apart for an event coming up next week. I'm not so interested bin the power gains. I'm mostly interested in it protecting my bike from dirt and debris. The factory stuff is terrible and way too small for this beast

@@EverySingleSunday I'm with you on dirt protection over max power gains but as I've seen on your videos we have similar interest in mis-using this big bike in places where one would be better off with trials bike - I'm keen to hear your experience how airbox affects on bike low rpm feel and response. Feel free to reply with a video =)

Thanks for this vid Travis. wondering if I need a power commander with the Arrow mid pipe/cat delete and this intake? Range is important to me which is why I've been reluctant to install a PC as maps typically reduce gas mileage. I'm also not looking for performance gains; just less heat w/ cat removal and better filtration. Also wondering about the mating surface with the intake and the element, whether or not there's a wide enough mating surface to reduce dirty air ingestion in this area? I use axle grease between on my 300.
@RottweilerPerformance
@RottweilerPerformance 3 жыл бұрын
Randy, this question is actually THE most common and it's understandable as to why. You do not have to remap at all, the bike using the stock narrow band O2's does a great job and simply keeping your air fuel ratio at the standard economic 14.7 AFR. That's certainly safe, but the bike will benefit greatly from remapping via Power Commander V and you can always add a map switch so you can have both economy and power when you want it. The air box alone is about 9+ HP at 6300 RPM and the Power Commander adds about 6 more, mostly with ignition advance. Bottom line though, you can run a decat and the airbox with stock mapping with no issues whatsoever. The whole idea of 'making it lean' does not apply when a computer is always correcting the fueling.

@@RottweilerPerformance Ok that sounds great Chris. Bought the mid pipe from you but haven't put it on yet. How about the sound? Is there an intake howl over stock? If you're familiar I had a Moto Hooligan airbox on my old SDR and it would beat like a drum.
@RottweilerPerformance
@RottweilerPerformance 3 жыл бұрын
@@superdukerandy These sound awesome. Because of the configuration of the bike the sound comes from near the muffler area and is under the seat. It's not in your face like the 990 Adventure, but most people love that sound from that bike too.

@@EverySingleSunday I hope this new box helps the torque down low. Looking at the graph it seems like it does. I'd go 15T up front but like that 240+ mile range that the Tenere lacks.

Has anyone been able to confirm that this kit will fit the 890? I understand the 890 has a revised subframe and I want to be sure this fits before I order it. Also, which version of the kit will be better at standing up to the rocks and vibration - carbon or plastic?
