ROUGH COUNTRY Multi Light Controller (MLC-6) Installation Guide

This video is to show how to install the MLC-6 module from Rough Country. The MLC-6 from Rough Country is a multi accessory complete control unit that eliminated the need to run tons of individual wires through and around your vehicle to various toggle switches and fuse taps. The MLC-6 centralizes and manages up to 6 separate accessories at once with a convenient toggle switch board on the inside of the Jeep.
Hope this video is helpful to you! There's a few steps through this install process that are kind of confusing or might seem intimidating, so I wanted to make a video giving some detail on the specifics of the install!

Oh my gosh! So at 10:30 area, when I’m showing how to run the wire harness down the A-pillar. Right at about 10:39 my camera zooms into a spot beind the panel, them the video cuts to outside the Jeep. That is where i ran the wire harness through. On my Jeep there is an opening there that had a little bit of foam plugging that i just needed to push through. I must have cut the video short there in editing, and I’m really not sure why! I’m sure the hole that i used is probably meant for something else, maybe on a Jeep that comes with more “features”, but my Jeep is very basic so i have lots of unused and plugged holes on my firewall.

Do you have any videos showing how to connect lights utilizing wiring harnesses that come with pod or light bars to the MLC-6? I don't have alot of electrical knowledge so this is more challenging for me. I have tried different scenarios and none are working.

Can you get the switch panel with different background lights such as blue, green, red or amber? Thank You

Not that I know of. I'm pretty sure it just comes blue. However, they are just rocker switches, so you could switch them out for other rocker switches of the same size (they seem to be a pretty standard size compared to others I see)

Front bumper is also Rough Country, actually. I bought it used off of a friend of mine. It's been a good bumper. taken a couple hits without issue.

Do the accessories still get power when the jeep is off? Or is that fuse tap only for the backlite LED toggle switches?

No, when the Jeep is off, power to the lights and switchboard is cut off.

I have this switch panel I’m getting ready to install. I also have 2 sets of rough country cubes that have DRLs. The switches for those are dual position, up for drl, middle off, and down full on. Is it possible to run those switches off the mlc6? The extra wire in the cube harness is throwing me off.

I have a video with those same RC cubes. I hope i did a good job showing my wiring process. I’m not great at wiring, but i try to keep it clean and organized! It is absolutely possible to wire those cubes to the MIC6, check out that video, if you have any questions if i didn’t show something good enough let me know and I’ll try to help you out more. 👍👍

So you just ran the spot to the mlc6 panel and the drl power is running separate? If so where did you run that power to?
