Started off unloading all the valves and pipe for the water main going to the duplexes. Then started in on the rough grade around the units. Could only really work on the back and a few in between cause of the electric company burying the power up front. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #roughgrade

I used to work for the cable company and it used to frustrate me the crap that contractors would do. I would show up to run cable to the new houses and our trench would be full of trash. One contractor thought it would be funny to pour concrete in our conduit then watch me struggle with pulling the cable. Comcast wasn't too happy about that. Then there are the landscapers who plant a yard on top of our fiber vault - because why would we need access to the taps that supply the entire street. Glad to see you take pride in your work, crappy you didn't have better material to work with.

Brick Mason: * drops numerous random bricks on the ground while laying brick. Also Brick Mason: * I guess those will be fill dirt now. I'm always frustrated with the fact that many construction crews treat the grounds around any project as a secondary dumpster. Always leaving piles of stuff and a mess of all sorts for someone else to clean up. You did a really good job shaping it up with what you had been given. Hopefully they bring you some more dirt!

One thing I don’t understand is why all you guys in America don’t really use 4 in 1 buckets? It’s really rare to see a solid bucket in Australia
@eliteearthworksllc
@eliteearthworksllc 4 жыл бұрын
AJB Earthworks a few people around here have them. Our ground is so rocky I would hate to wear the bottom out of a $5000 bucket. A $2000 bucket is bad enough lol. Plus I don’t have to mess the with the hoses when I want to take the bucket off
@rogerbell9943
@rogerbell9943 4 жыл бұрын
AJB In your experience, would a 4 in 1 make this job faster? An how so? I’m in Texas and I never see 4 in 1’s. We do a ton of grade work and I’ve often wondered if they’d be worth the investment.
@ajbearthworks
@ajbearthworks 4 жыл бұрын
A good quality one lasts a bloody long time, I also have lots of rock around here and mine seem to take a beating, I get the hoses are a pain but for me the couple mins it takes to jump out and attach them are worth it, and I wouldn’t say it would make this job easier but they do have there advantages, like those couple trees your could pick up and move them, or open the bucket up and back drag with it, you can also you the it open as a blade so to speak, just a more versatile bucket and I could never go back to a standard one now, even just trying to get the last on the dirt in a tight area, can open it up and grab it off the ground, but yeh each to their own I guess
@TrailTrackers
@TrailTrackers 4 жыл бұрын
@@rogerbell9943 : I'm not AJB (obviously, lol) but I'll offer you my opinion. Notwithstanding what I said above in my rant, and if I absolutely had to do this grading job, I would have used my 4-in-1 but just like he did here; my 4-in-1 is my toothed bucket. I mainly use the clam for scraping material up off the road and demoing concrete and other stuff; picking stuff up and putting it in the trailer. Even if you opened it, you wouldn't be able to get right up against that foundation wall to drag stuff back. And even still, if you were persistent enough to get it close, your teeth would be knocking the GD brick off that wall. Also, just like was done here, I always use my toothed bucket for grading. I use my bladed bucket for moving material around mostly. Like getting gravel into position and smooth; toothed buckets suck balls for that.

What a poorly planned development. Main service lines should be added in first. By the way suburban development is why our country has terrible infrastructure. Instead of fixing what we have, we just build more at a cheap cost but don't factor in the longterm low return but high cost to maintain.

But they are built to engineer specs. I don't see anything wrong with what they did. If it was poorly planned as you say there would be houses where the lines would have gone. Sounds like the lines are sized according to code and they are putting in a hydrant.

james robinson things are a little different here because of the tornado in 2011 people are building back in different areas or completely changing what was there. That road use to go through and that bridge wasn’t there. There was only one house and a church in this area before which came off the existing water main in the road. The stuff we are adding has been in the works for months but the engineer was dragging his feet. We had a mile wide stretch for 25 miles long cut through the middle of town so it’s always exciting now to dig and see what utilities are abandon. Appreciate you watching
