Haha ... I’m glad you like your gift 🎁. I don’t believe I read that this was thee “ Ultimate Chopper “ though . But I did read a bunch of 5 Star reviews ( not one 4 or less review ). For someone who wants a big old Bowie knife for less than $30 , look no further . The handle has a lanyard hole ( for extra safety in case of slippage ). Or you can just wrap it like some others do . I absolutely would hate to be on the receiving end of this if someone were to use it in a knife fight ! Say goodbye to those limbs ! I give this 5 Stars still - taking in account for the price . I have a bunch of Timber Rattlers , and other budget friendly Bowie’s , that make that same sound when chopping . Super Sharp !!! And a Looker too 🤠

I hear that "ting" everytime you chop on the stump... SMKW lists these as 440A. Knife really looks nice, too bad the steel isnt better. They list it as a "partial tang" welded to grip parts, not sure what that means but "partial tang" is an auto deal-breaker. (For me). Kitchen knife, ok, but first THROW that MoFo! As a woods-knife- "One should never be where one does not belong" and my credo is never carry a knife that I'd not bet my life on in a pinch... Good review as always, thanks!

I saw that. I'm a mechanical engineer. I guess my question is "why?". They're actually making 2 separate forged steel parts, and welding them. That's literally more expensive than merely making a full tang knife. It's much less expensive to forge 1 source of steel, and add some handle scales. It just doesn't make sense. Look at the basic SZCO Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel Bowies? They're full tang, and they're less expensive than this knife.

If Rough Rider had only given it a FULL tang (which would be way easier for them to make) then they could've sold this for !0 or 20 dollars more, and had loads of people wanting one.
