I like the fact that they are simple and inexpensive. They won’t cost more than the knife! I’ve seen the fancier versions for $50 and up, and with huge branding on the front, like the CK one. No thanks. These will patina up and look better soon. I’d like RR to offer slips with clips, like the one I got with the dog bone jack. It ain’t fancy, but it looks good and does the job.

Not bad for the money. That medium seems like a pretty versatile size.

great review i got the medium recently for my sodbuster jnr. wet the leather first and wrapped thr knife in clingfilm nd the leather molded to the shape suprisingly well looks great now.

I love mine, put my knives in then oiled the leather they dried to form.

Great topic. Just recently I made myself a pocket slip from leather I already had. Made it to fit a Vic Spartan, so it also fits my other medium size slip joints and kickbacks like the Buck 55. Wish I'd done that years ago ! They stay upright in the pant pocket and keep lint out of the knives extremely well. Slips like the ones you're showing are worth their weight in gold imo, should last many years.

Tip up is generally going be a better way to put them into pocket slip. (Especially when the butt end of the handle is larger in diameter than the pivot end. They will tend to conform to the shape of the knife better, and are typically easier to put in and take out that way. (That Barlow at 3:29 for example.)

Yeah I've come to realize that since this video

Great video thanks. I like the rivet holes for lanyards. I have made my own leather slip for my SAK Champion Plus and CyberTool 34 to keep them clean and attached to lanyards so they can hang halfway down my pocket and to one side leaving my pocket room on the bottom for other stuff. My leather slips have a lot to be desired in the fit and finish but plan to make better ones. I used leather from a old leather couch as it is free. But when I got a thin little knife from Great Eastern Cutlery #62 Farm and Field it was nice and deserved a better slip and bought one for it for $15 but the knife was to thin and would slip out so I used for my Alox victorinox that did not come with a key chain ring to add a lanyard and fit good and will keep it looking new. So I notice these same knife slips at SMKW that you are showing in this video when I bought a Bear and Son Barlow and the price was cheap so I bought one of each size slip so I will have a good fit & I do not loose my knives and they stay clean and protected.🔪

Thanks for the review - I have a set on the way. They look pretty decent for the price, but am a little concerned that the metal grommet might scratch the knife.

I've got 4 large ones , 3 medium and 2 small . I have my Schrade EDC rotation knives in them . The large fits full size Trappers and large Stockmans perfectly . The mediums fit medium Stockmans up to 3 1/2 inches perfectly and the small fits my 2 3/4 inch junior Stockmans perfectly . I've made leather lace lanyards with the hangmans knot for all of them . Can't beat these slips for the money at all . Add a leather lanyard and rub some leather conditioner on them and they're great .

I bought two of each size, they may be rough (great for a RR), but they won't break the bank!

I double dog Dare you to review an Italian made magnetic leather slip. I own the Northwoods USA and the CKs Italian made magnetic slips. Magnetic slips are the best slips and hardly nobody is catching on to them. I use 3 1/2" to 4" closed knives with these slips. Mike Latham has these Italian made magnetic slips for sale. $25 The slip stays secure at the top inside your pants pocket "Tip up". No more fumbling for your slip. I can grab a medium folder "tip up" in one second. Open my knife and roll. Having one arm , I had to try out both. Northwood has discontinued their magnetic slip from lack of sales. Mike Latham had the guts to get an Italian leather company make those slips . The Northwoods , I snatch out my knife with my index finger and my left thumb in one second. GEC/Northwoods collectors will pay $100 to $300+ for a new/NOS knife , but they use a flimsy cheap slip that fumbles around in you pocket. It makes no sense to me.

A cheap option to see if you like a pocket slip before spending the money on a more expensive one.

Will a Jumbo Trapper fit in the Large slip ?
@KnifeThoughts Жыл бұрын
I don't know, I'm sorry. Which jumbo trapper?

The basic Jumbo Trapper 2 blades approximately 4 1/2 inches , The Queen saw cut bone or the Queen red bone and any of the Marbles 117 Jumbo Trappers and Remington J T ?

I´ve got one as a freebie from my dealer but I didn´t even had to unpack it to see that they are of a very poor quality. As much as love RR knives I prefer a more substantial slip for my knives.

In my opinion you have missed the point of these slips. I believe you would use these to stop the knife coming out of your pocket when you sit down, as I’d makes for a less slippery little package.i personally would add a lanyard to absolutely ensure I don’t loose it.
