I’ve never seen someone still be so sweet and positive whilst feeling sea sick and sleep deprived! I’ve been on choppy seas and it certainly gives you even more respect for mother nature and the power of water. Glad you got through it - can’t wait for tomorrow’s episode!! 👍

Our very first cruise was that way. Cast members admitting that they didn't get much sleep. I guess that broke us in so we always say, nothing else has come close to that rocky! The last night coming in to port, I got up about 2am and the toilets were turned off! I assume because the rocking was so bad.

I went on my first Disney cruise (and first ever cruise of any kind) in April of last year and since I'm very prone to motion sickness in general, I got a prescription for scopolamine patches from my doctor before we left. My husband, who had been on a Disney cruise before, assured me that I wouldn't need the patches and that I wouldn't even feel the motion. It turned out that there were storms in the area on our sail away day, the sea was super choppy and I could in fact feel the motion as a result. Lol. I tried to make it without the patch but at dinner on the first night, I had to go back to the room and put a patch behind my ear. Within an hour or so, I was completely fine! I could feel the motion but it didn't bother me at all. The patch stayed on until I was snorkeling at Castaway and I accidentally loosened it when I was adjusting the strap on my snorkel mask. I put on another patch when we got back on the ship though and I was fine for the rest of the cruise. I will never cruise without those patches after that experience, they were a life saver!

On my third cruise (I’ve been on 8) we had 10 metre swells and it was so bad they had to lock us all inside for safety reasons. People were bringing their mattresses out of their cabins and sleeping around the atrium midship it was that bad. The ship docked the following day with smashed windows, roof damage and a LOT of very sick travellers! But, it was all part of the experience of that cruise and we keep coming back for more - just as you will Michael 😁

Oh my goodness Michael. I know you felt so bad in the begining. Such a horrible feeling being sea sick. I would have been incapacitated. I do not do well with that sort of thing. Plus the anxiety of moving about too! Sheesh! So gkad you felt better towards bruch and dinner. You have had a few things "happen" now while on the cruise! hi michael! i don’t normally leave comments (because my family and i watch you on the tv together most evenings and you can’t comment on our tv!) but i had to reach out and say that you never have to apologize for something like this! we all completely understand that you can’t always be high energy or fast paced and you shouldn’t feel the need to apologize, especially not multiple times, to us!!! i also wanted to add that i started watching you back in early 2018 as a way to overcome my anxiety of cruises and because of your vlogs and happiness and energy i have been able to go on two disney cruises since then!! (our last one, in september of 2019, had really rough seas too and my mom spent the last night in the bathroom suffering with sea sickness so i extra sympathize with you in this video and hope that you made a quick recovery!!)

Good Morning Michael! Oh, this video broke my heart! On the first cruise VLOG, I was very concerned about your cabin location for this reason! I was seasick only one time and thought I'd die, afterwards my Uncle gave me very good advice: try to have a cabin as midship as possible, always have crackers or something in your stomach no matter how bad you feel and NEVER go up on deck to look at the ocean or the pools (that'll do you in for sure)! Glad the non drowsy Dramamine helped you! Thanks for all the work you put into all these VLOGS :-)

Hi, Mike! I'm a friend from Pennsylvania. You met my husband last year at Epcot when you were there with your dad. I watch you and Dave nearly every day, and really enjoy your fine work! I have major motion sickness issues, but I love to cruise. My first cruise I was able to use seabands, but later cruises were rougher. Once I was cruising solo and was quite ill in my cabin. My cabin steward was quite compassionate and brought me meclezine (which I believe is the same as the non-drowsy Dramamine). It worked quite well, but is NOT to be mixed with some other meds. In the past 15 years, I have always cruised with a scopolamine patch that is prescribed by my doctor. It takes me a while to wean off the scop patch after the cruise, but I can enjoy the whole cruise, regardless of the seas. (I am also able to enjoy Forbidden Journey and FoP with the patch. It really has been a lifesaver!)

Once I was told by a boat owner (we were doing some whale watching on a small motorised boat) that focusing on the horizon helps with the nausea/dizziness. I think that's what happened when you were on the balcony where Mickey meets, and in the morning when you could actually see the horizon :)

I felt so bad for you. My first cruise was in Nov 2 weeks after Hurricane Sandy the one that damaged the Jersey shore really bad. Lucky for me I wore a sea sick patch I was ok it worked lots of people were sick . One funny scene was after a comedy show was over everyone stood up to leave took 1 step then wobbled in unison from the rocking it was looked like it was a planned movie scene. I wondered if they sold out of patches & meds at the gift shop that cruise. Hope it improves for you.

Hi Michael. Sea sickness is the worse feeling. Because I know I am sensitive to movement I start taking Dramamine 24 hours before my cruise and the first few days into the cruise. That way the medication is already in my system. Dramamine also expires so hopefully you didn't rate its performance based upon an expired package you brought for your first cruise. Also, for the first time ever I had a hard time watching your video because of the focus on all the movement. I still liked the video, I appreciate your content and I look forward to watching your future videos!

On our very first Disney Cruise, first night...I got sea sick. Couldn’t make it through dinner, went back to the room. Opened the door, thought I was doing good to make it to the bathroom sink to be sick. Didn’t realize that it wouldn’t go down the sink. Our room attendant had to come use a device similar to a shop vacuum to clean the sink. Was so embarrassing. He said he had done about 100 clean ups that night. Husband talked to crew members that said seas were so rough that half of the crew was too sick to serve dinner that night....compared it to going through a hurricane waters.

On my Fantasy cruise last week, we couldn't stop in Grand Cayman or Jamaica because of weather, and one day at sea, when I was in vibe open house, one could hear the ship crashing through the waves. By far the toughest seas I've ever had, but, I have to love them.

I was at sea on the Wonder during your taping. I talked to a disney employess and she said this was the worst she had expeirenced since she came on in 2011. She also said on previous boats her bed faced the direction your brothers and now she had a bed in similar position to the main bed. She said she slept a lot better when it was in the couch position, I guess that makes sense. My head kept going up & down in the main bed, my kids kind of got rocked back and forth side to side, that sounds a lot more pleasing to me.
