It all starts with tree harvesting in the forest. It nice watching a seasoned logger size up the fall and cut to the tree as he takes on these giants.

Good Sir Boss, this brought back so many wonderful memories of time in my woods; dropping, sectioning up, splitting, loading & hauling my own heating wood for the farm house. I noticed you have a safety plan for every tree, and you carry on you the essential tools for the most efficient process of felling. If I lived closer I would be there with you, doing the limb cuts and sectioning, while you moved onto the next tree. Days of Fall in the woods working were always some of my best days alive. I respect and deeply appreciate the energy and work ethic you exhibit. At 75, I am not a young rabbit, but I can still "run" a decent race for my age. Thank You for the sweet Wood & Fall memories. I cut wood as a practical hobby, but when I started I was surprised at how much more effort it is to cut into a tree sideways instead of straight down when the tree is already down. Turns out my hobby is also hard work and exercise. Enjoy your vids.

Your Dad is good. Everything I saw spoke of talent, experience, knowledge, and safety. I particularly liked,,, he runs when it begins to move. I have become a huge proponent of 'Getting out of Dodge.' when the tree starts to move. Laughing ,,, one of my absolute best and toughest falls (picking it out between houses and power lines),, I never got to see it fall at all. When it started to move,, I had already done everything I could,, I just ran to safety. Best policy.

I FOUND MY DAD CAP!! I went ahead and got 2. One of each color. I'll save one for Sunday's, weddings, funerals and such. Also got the tool bag, needing a new one and I'm sure this one is tough. I've learned a lot about felling a tree from your Dad's videos. I think a good one would be him walking up to a tree and talking about all the things going through his thought process. What direction, wind, natural terrain, getting it out, etc.

A great video as usual Emerald. Your dad certainly knows his way around a chainsaw. Scenery reminds me of a woods camp my Dad had in NS where he cut all of our firewood...mostly maple, birch,ash . Nothing as huge in girth or quite as tall as the one you filmed your Dad cutting down though. 👍👍👍

Thought you might show how you recovered those logs, my property is 1:3 mostly, and the 40 yards winch cable just won’t reach, also as I’m in the UK the ground turns to mud really quickly, which means logs have to be de-barked before milling. Each time I change a band saw blade it’s £25.

Any preference on the huskvarnas? I have a 20 plus year old stihl saw and another newer stihl chainsaw and multiple other weedeaters, blowers, etc. I guess I'm slightly biased since they build them in Virginia Beach where I'm from. and where I live. I'm a loyal Stihl buyer so change my mind! Any advantage to the huskvarna saws? All my saw experience is from cleaning up after hurricanes when we get hit by them.
