Thank you Pete and Matt. Peace to Rick. But you guys have helped tremendously in my game. I have 6 kids, I barely can afford the game but watching your videos and listening to ideas has helped. I’m from Arizona. Golf is big out here. I went from the high score to almost breaking a hundred. My best has been 102. I started playing 2 years ago. I know I have more work to do. But I love the game. And my 3 kids love the game too. So KZbin and your golf channels has helped change our lives. Thanks guys. Much love from the 🇺🇸

I like the reply Rory gave when he was asked what one piece of advice he would give amateurs to improve: ‘you’re not as good as you think you are. Stop tying to play like a professional. Even we don’t play the hero shots I see amateurs take on.’ That and Padraigs advice to putt everything out. No gimmies. My putting has much improved because of that.

I got a new LAB putter 3 months ago and practiced with it around 2 times a week and I've dropped 5 stokes easy. Even when my ball striking was ass I was still in the mid 80s

I went side saddle putting and it is by far the biggest jump ingame improvement i have ever had. It only took a couple of months and most of that was being self conscious. After i got over what people thought of it, I improved drastically. Almost every second putt is less than 3 feet. I worked really hard on approach shots 125 to 90 yrds and hit more greens. But my chipping and pitching is still hard for me. I would rather almost flop a ball than do some kind of bump and let it run out. I have gotten better but still inconsistent with speed control, feel. Second bad is fairway bunkers. I suck at them, and almost impossible to practice because there isn't any at ranges to hit from, just greenside bunkers at putting range.

Because of the annual release cycles and the slow iterative improvements it makes sense to buy something at least 1,5 or 2 seasons old - price is appealing and the tech will hold you over for a good amount of time. This depends on what you looking to get out of the game. If you want the latest shiny toys buy into all the marketing hype.

Putting is key and should be the main focus of practice. 60% of my practice is now focused on putting. I’ve found it a back breaker but now take regular stretching breaks throughout the session which makes them longer.

I wish Fryer was a weekly co-host. I like both of your podcasts, but together it’s just magical!! I mean more magical then a unicorn or a leprechaun even. The banter when y’all are together. I couldn’t quit laughing. Great pod guys!

Question for next week. Thoughts on low draw with driver. Watched an insane video from Titleist with Cameron Young where he regularly tees it very low and hits a low bullet with a small draw.

Admittedly im only a 16hcp but my advice is get used to playing better, harder rated courses... there's a former LPGA venue local to me that I can play for less than $100, a Palmer designed course for $60-70, and a few other resort courses in the same bracket... on any one of those, as long as I shoot 93 or better from the tips my handicap stays the same or improves... meanwhile one of the park district courses doesn't even have blue tees, last time I shot 83 there my handicap actually went UP

Honestly My current Driver is a Taylor Made M4 I love the thing but my nephew has a Stealth 2 and I am hitting this thing 20 meters further, no Joke. So should I change or wait until Febuarry and get fitted for the new one! I am tending to go to a fitting right now because I think it's time knowing that a new one will come out soon. But I most likely will play the thing for 5 years again! SO what! BTW my 5 Things: 1 get better at putting 2 get better at putting 3 get better at putting 4 get better at putting 5 buy a new Putter!

Hey Ralph. Since no one answered. I had stealth, broke it, then got QI10 LS. Far better, more forgiving club. Have hit long drives with it. It really is low spin when centered, very straight flights. 63 yrs old, 2 years golfing. The standard model will suit most players. Love this club. You probably will, as well.

Best tips: always take less club and swing faster most players hook it when they try to swing slower with more club, play with better golfers you will pick up tips and be able to ask them for help, spend more time practicing from 100 yards and in. Putting and getting the ball on the green are critical. Hope this helps everyone and no need to watch the video.

On Matt talking about “just hitting it” with Pete “drawing it off that chimney” - my coach said two related things: - Aim small, miss small - If you don’t have precise aim, how can you precisely assess how much you’ve missed? It is hard to maintain that level of focus for a round though

Matt and Peter have the bodies of 65 year old men. If they want to get better at golf they should reverse their physical age to late 20s in terms of fitness , mobility and strength.
